Lucia — Restaurant in Lawrence

My sister came here fot her 21st birthday. She was 21 so she didn't know much about the different options. She asked the bartender what proof/price a certain alcohol was and it was obvious that the bartender wasnt even listening to her because she poored a shot instead, even though my sister wasnt even sure if she would want it. She was just so impatient with her. Not to mention it was the smallest shot ever and it was $6. Since the shot was poored my sister thought she had to pay for it so she did. Of course, we quickly left after this.

Ive lived in Lawrence for a long time and this was the only bar I wasnt familiar with. Ill continue leaving it out of mind when looking for a night out. Especially since your bartender wouldnt even listen, it was really rude. It really is a shame that her attitude towards us ran us off because we probably couldve had a good time but she probably didnt want more people in the bar to take...

I'd rate this much higher because the music is usually great, the staff is good and the space is interesting, but-I hate the chairs. The stools at the bar are uncomfortable, the booths are painted plywood, and there are no regular sized chairs inside. There are normal chairs outside, and we were able to bring a few in, but the tables are all counter-height. This may not be a big deal to most people, but I am short and round and unwieldy on stools without good footing. I realize I am in the minority and probably not worth accommodating for, but this does affect my decision-making when I'm choosing what to do for...

When Lucia first opened we loved it! My bf loves the beef patties so we would regularly have to go so he could get his fix. A while back they took the chicken patty off the menu. Strike 1. We were very disappointed with our last visit. The beer was hot, the beef patty was greasy and cold as if left over from the day before, and the table was sticky. The place overall looked as if it needed a good scrub. Strike 2 & 3. On the plus side, the staff was friendly. I don't know what changed but hopefully some improvements...
