It was great! My fiancé and I came here last night for dinner. I got the 4 taco platter and my fiancé got the three taco meal. We also ordered some beers and a margarita. Being attached to a bar I was worried tbh. But the food was great! I got the pastor and my fiancé got the shredded beef. I got two soft shell and two hard shell tacos. After asking for salsa for my tacos. The server informed me that it is a $4 up charge for chips and salsa. (Which I thought was weird at first). Until I tried the sauce! Omg the sauce was amazing. And overall the price isn’t bad! You have the option for add ons. Which cost extra. But even with the weird salsa for your taco charge (which they actually ended up giving us for free. Since it was our first time). It is cheaper than most if not all Mexican restaurants of that quality. Plus if you have young ones who are plain eaters. They offer things like cheeseburgers, mozzarella sticks, wings, and French fries. I would highly recommend to anyone even families. As the restaurant is separate section of the building than the bar it is attached to! Great patio...
Read moreThis place has a long history on the west side of Lawrence. This is the third location where I have tried it, and it has some high points. In the old days, their torta ahogada was superb, and they apparently still make them some weekends as a special.
We went there specifically for fish tacos. We had recently tried the fish tacos at Fuzzy’s. We will eventually try all of them available around the city… The differences? This place heats the tortillas if perhaps not enough, but more than nothing. That is a distinct advantage. The salsa at this place is quite a bit better… Indeed, even very good. The fish per se is probably a bit better at fuzzies, but the tacos overall are better here, if buy a hair.
Tortas Jalisco is definitely a hole in the wall, but has its high points. Certainly, being family run, and family owned is attractive, and this family has been running interesting restaurants in the city for...
Read moreOnly good thing I have to say about this place is the server was pleasant. Being a southern Cali native, I hold Mexican food to a high standard We ordered two burritos. One pork pastor, one veggie. The meat burrito was specifically required to be made with extra onion and cilantro. There is more onion and cilantro on the planet Mars than on my order. It was a cold flour tortilla filled 90 percent with rice and a horribly small portion of meat that would serve better as stucco. 10 dollars for a cold tortilla, rice, and enough ingredients to make half a street taco.. The veggie burrito was supposed to come with rice, beans, guacamole, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, pico, and peppers. There was no guacamole, cheese, or beans, and there was a very small amount of onion and tomato , and canned jalapeño peppers on the very bottom. Very disappointed, would...
