I am a member of Gwinnett County Public Schools. We are a major contributor to Relay For Life. We had approached Slow Pour about being our home stop for a poker run benefitting Relay For Life. We were told they would be happy to let us use the outside patio and stage, as well as set up out back by their food truck and sell our own food for the afternoon. At this first contact I was introduced to Nate and advised he was the front end manager and would be glad to help us. As the event approached we took fliers into the bar and the "event coordinator" advised us they had no knowledge of our event. I then contacted Nate and he said there was a mixup in the date and they had scheduled Octoberfest for that day. When I let him know we had already sent out the fliers and posted it in the county newsletter he finally said we could use the patio and stage, but had to be gone before the band got there to set up at 4:30. I let him know that would not be a problem. I then asked if there was any electricity out back we could use and he told me no. On the day of the event I showed up at Slow Pour about 10:30 a.m. to set up for food sales and was put in a back corner as far away from the bar as they could get me. When the rest of the team showed up we were provided no help, asked not to use our P.A. system, and not allowed to use the stage. It was evident that we were not welcome and were trying to be driven off. Slow Pour did not donate a single prize for Relay, the treatment we received was embarrassing, and I ended up donating the food cost for the Poker Run so it would not be a...
Read moreNice location near the beautiful downtown area of Lawrenceville, GA. The inside and outside areas of this beer brewer (I wont call it a "bar") are nice. There is a noticeable cleanliness to all. Maybe that was just the day I went, but it was clean without all the spills and other messes often found with outside venues. There appears to be a "band area" outside. Ive never been here on a weekend, but I assume they have bands. The assortment of beers is good, although I personally prefer German beers. I liked several of their brews, which had less hops, and liked the presentation of the brews. Their "sample" offering comes on a "rack" and holds the glasses fairly secure. Glasses are good sized and filled well with their brews. Im not an expert craft beer drinker, so Ill let you determine which you like. I prefer German beers, not the over-hopped "craft" IPA, etc that are found everywhere. Several of their brews tasted great to me. I avoided their IPA, etc. A nice location to enjoy an evening, a cold brew with friends and a calm environment that is welcoming to those who visit. Look forward to...
Read moreCool atmosphere but the beer is about as mediocre as you can get. Two blonde ales and three session IPAs that literally all follow the same path? Please up your game Slow Pour. We were told there was a DIPA available, but they ran out.. So no other offerings to put on that tap? With only five beers available last evening and all of them being regular mediocre offerings, it was very disappointing I must say. Also pints are a bit pricey with some reaching $6.50.
Edit* I will say Saras review below me is somewhat incorrect, as my wife and I were there on Friday at 7pm as well. It was packed, with around 50 people easily in the taproom, and there was a food truck outside. I will agree with her about the young woman barkeep, as we witnessed her ask one of the other patrons (a very large guy covered in tattoos) to walk into the cooler area with her, and change out a keg (which he did!). She certainly picked the right guy for the job out of her line of customers, as he toted a new keg out and quickly connected the sanke connection because she didnt know how it went on. Give this guy the...
