Warning! Not the Royal Jade it used to be! I've come here for 15 years and today was my last time. Here you will get terrible customer service AND stale or bad food. And when you (even nicely) let them know something is wrong with the food the bigger Latin girl that's apparently the 'manager' will trash talk you so loud, just behind the little partition in the dining room that the whole restaurant will hear. She was an embarrassment. I went and let her know me and everyone could hear her and she said "I know!" And then proceeded to argue with me to the point the kitchen staff came and told her to stop.
My whole meal was bad. The chicken tasted rancid. I hope I don't get sick. The ham fried rice tasted like it was made yesterday. And the egg Foo young was absolutely disgusting. (Used to be my favorite entree there.) They insisted though that everything was "fresh" and that I just wasn't used to their food, which I assure you isn't the case. And they gave me a $1.00 discount (basically just an insult to injury) when all I could eat of my meal was the hot and sour soup. They got new owners however long ago, and it's been on a steady decline and now has officially hit rock bottom, especially with their terrible manager.
I can't believe I still can go on - I had the unfortunate need to use their restroom, which was borderline traumatizing - the giant toilet paper roll just sitting on the handicapped rail. The paper towel roll sitting on the counter, soggy. I had to Jimmy rig the toilet flusher that's barely attached to be able to flush it. On my way to the restroom, you can see into the dimly lit kitchen area, and it's so cringey. You have to put it out of mind to eat your food.... not to mention the employees are wearing street clothes and don't have their hair pulled back.
I got mocked when I told the manager I am a top Google restaurant reviewer and wanted to give them a chance to make it right. She sarcastically said, "Good for you!" Well, at least I warned them and gave them a chance. I'm telling ya, skip this place. You're better off.
My review from 2018 (completely invalid now, but I'll leave it for them to see how downhill they've come) The friendliest staff!! Ever since they hired Katrina, I get excited to go. She seems to manage the place and is soo friendly and personable. She remembers my name and what me and my family like to order and how we like it. But that wouldn't be worth much if the chefs didn't comply, and they DO! Extra veggies in the wonton soup, no problem! Served sooo quick, hot and fresh. Love the orange chicken, cheese wontons, and I get the BBQ pork fried rice cause it's made...
Read moreJust had a very very large order, waited a lot longer than expected to pick up our food, got home and where missing 3 orders of white rice and an order of fried rice. Called to let them know and see how they could fix it. Talked to a young man who was a little flustered and not quite sure how to go about it but was very kind. Got his manager on the phone and OH. MY. GOSH. Hands down one of the rudest people I’ve ever spoken to. She was incredibly rude, told me she couldn’t refund us the food we paid for and weren’t given and had the nerve to tell me “well first off let me tell you that the white rice that comes with your entrees is complimentary soooooo” kept speaking incredibly rude to me while she was on speaker phone and my entire family could hear her and I told her “all I wanted was you to right the wrong and give me the food I paid for and I’m baffled right now. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had” and she said… “ok have a nice night then” and hung up. Not to mention the food was less than mediocre. As someone who worked in customer service for almost a decade and recruited, hired and trained sales associates, I can’t wrap my head around how someone like that is employed in an industry where she is required to interact with people. If I overheard one of my employees speaking to a customer like this or saw this review, they would be fired. Good luck to the owners employing this awful awful employee. Your door has a sign that reads “help wanted” well help is STILL...
Read moreSpent $80 on takeout last night at this restaurant. Was very disappointed and will not be returning. As far as the staff atmosphere etc. I can’t speak volumes on that as we just got takeout. The food was a major light down. I feel like 95% of Chinese places are roughly the same. Some flavors might be slightly different, how they fry their food might be slightly different, etc. But roughly the same. One that stands out as being really good or really bad is extremely rare. This happened to be really bad. The soup had a weird flavor that reminded me of the smell of wet dog. All of the food had a very strange sauce. It’s like they started with a catchup base and then added some spices and stuff to that. Not like most other chinese restaurants where they have a transparent brown sauce, etc.
It was also disappointing to find out that the DoorDash app for ordering takeout. The prices were about 20% higher than their menu in the restaurant. Plus a $10 service fee. Not only that but you’re supposed to have the option to choose between white rice, fried rice, etc., as well as the side and the soup. There was no option on the website and we were shorted a lot of stuff like the soups. It’s like we paid a premium without taking up space in their dining room. I wouldn’t say the food wasnt terrible like the kind that makes you sick. But it just wasn’t what you expect when you think Chinese food. And the soup giving that weird taste was very strange ive ate at hundreds of Chinese places and never...
