I had my hair cut by Jessica Bosley. I thought Jessica was a wonderful person and really fun to talk to, one of those people you feel comfortable with right away. To start I have thick hair and maybe it was a bit overwhelming. The first time she cut my hair it was a good 1/2-3/4 inch longer on one side than the other. I'd been trimming my own bangs to kind of strategically grow out some "excess bangs" someone before her had cut for me and I asked her to make it look like I hadn't been trimming my own bangs for the last few months. I could definitely have been clearer that I was growing some out and didn't want all that was there, but said she "cleaned up what I had" and cut everything I'd been growing out into my bangs again and told me if I cut my own bangs again to do less than I had currently. I then explained that I'd been growing out a botch job. I got home and noticed the major length difference. The next day I called to have the length fixed and the cut maybe thinned out some more. She was happy to schedule me for a day/time that was outside of her hours for an opening which was awesome, but I opted to wait until it was a normal work day for her. Again she was uber pleasant and I love talking to her when I've gone in. She struggled to thin my hair out and didn't want to put much layer in it. The picture of the cut I'd brought to her initially was a mostly one length cut, but my hair is so long I explained it would need some layer and some serious thinning out. She hesitated to do any layer but conceded. She had a hard time blending my hair and the little bit of layer she put in and there was kind of one layer in the back. She kept making comments about how the hardest haircut to do and to blend is a little blonde boy, then later on told me that my hair is about that same texture. It seemed like a real struggle for her, but she was really trying hard and I had to give that to her. I really wanted it to work with her because it's so nice to find someone that conversation flows with so that it's not an awkward hour at the salon, but I hated my hair so badly I had to have someone else fix it after about 2-3 weeks. I think Jessica is a fantastic person and I really really like her, but I think if you have thick hair have it done by someone else. She'd probably be fine at thinner hair. Thick hair...
Read moreIt's taken me awhile to do this because I hate leaving bad reviews. Came in a couple months ago. Asked for a 360 undercut bob and a red and rose gold hair color. Showed pictures. Talked weeks before hand. The cut is so much more narrow than the picture I showed and had a huge side chunk of the Bob cut shorter than the rest that there is no way to fix other than wait for it to grow out or go super short. Messaged the stylist just to be told to let it grow out. I know she knew because she asked what side I like the part on and instantly styled it the other way and told me I should style it that way, concealing the miscut section. Also concealing the fact that the undercut was not done well at all. Now back to the color. It was supposed to go from a deep red root to a dusty rose gold ends. She bleached my strawberry blonde roots. Left the bleach on for so long even after I told her it was burning bad. I had sores for weeks. Thrn she mentions I have another client at 5. Well it's only 3 at this point so didn't think anything of it. She puts bleach on my ends, leaves it for five minutes then washes it and rushes the rest. Nothing lifted at all. Didn't get the color I asked. I understand it can take a couple times to get to the right lifted level but she didnt even try. I left looking like a magenta hot pink cranberry. I spent weeks in tears not knowing what to do. 200 for messed up hair was so he as heartbreaking to me. Ended up with a job interview and needed it fixed. Went to the local beauty school and left so much more happy with a better blended cut and the correct hair color. Now if only I didnt have this residual scalp pain from the bleach. Do I think the salon will do the right thing where I waited this long? No. But I want to make...
Read moreI've looked for a good mens hair stylist/barber that isn't a 5 dollar, 10 minute chop in a back alley and also not a terrible chain where they butcher your hair for 12 dollars. This place is awesome. It's the only place I've found two great men's hair stylists (or whatever term they use). I started with a barber there and he was outstanding. Then he left and I got Noelle who is also awesome. Make sure if you want a men's cut that you go see her. She takes awesome care of me. She's always great to me and my kids and she does outstanding men's hair. She's the first hair dresser I've requested more than a couple of times other than the barber who used to be at the same location. I'm very happy a local business put some effort into taking care of men's hair. It's a rare thing these days.
I need to add to this because of Tason. I took my daughter's to Tason and we all love him. He's so great with the kids and it makes their dad very happy. He's excited for them. Makes them feel special and unique. They laugh and have fun while getting a first class, master calls, hair styling. He doesn't just cut it and color like a master, but he styles it like a professional and the kids adore everything he says and does. I will take them back there to Tason even if they just need a smile....
