Overall, I would go here again and I enjoyed the meal. There are some improvements that I think would bump it from "just okay" to "I really like this place".
The good: the portions for what you pay are excellent. the food is fresh and made to order. bowls are really good and there is variety in terms of protein. it's a fairly healthy and well balanced meal made from quality ingredients.
The bad: the customer service: greet someone when they walk in and seem excited to serve them. the sushi: not good, the rice was warm on a California roll and it smelled overly fishy. This needs to change or I wouldn't recommend getting it. can there be some kind of divider between the lobby and where you stand in line or expect people to eat/wait for their food? The directions of how the process goes for ordering and what to do next were unclear and even though I was 1 of 2 customers in the restaurant it felt awkward like I didn't know where to be.
Recommendations: play some upbeat music, the restaurant needs some energy as it felt like a library vs a kitchen/business train staff on educating customers, even training them to ask, "have you eaten with us before?" And for new customers walking them through how it works. expect the front of house to greet customers with a smile or verbally as soon as they walk through the door. figure out how to make higher quality sushi or take it off the menu. I tried both rolls and neither was good.
Looking forward to visiting again and hope to see if some of these...
Read moreUncooked Salmon. Horrible customer service. I ordered a salmon meal through Door dash. When I got it it was completely raw. I'm talking gummy and even cold in the middle. I called to let them know the fish was raw and they said that because it was through door dash she 'didn't know what to tell me'. I understand that the rules of the door dash/restaurant world are different. But there wasn't so much as an apology or, I'll let them know. Then she proceeded to argue with me saying that they always cook their fish to 120-125 degrees. I again said that this was cold and raw so whoever is on the grill should really be double checking. Maybe he missed this one, but in the restaurant world that is a HUGE NO NO. She proceeded to continue to argue with me and tell me that maybe I just like my fish cooked a different way. I guess she's right. I like it cooked and warm instead of gummy and cold. Will not be returning here. Especially since she was argumentative over the phone instead of apologetic or tried to make any attempt at addressing the issue. In response to the owner. I was very professional in my phone call, I did not raise my voice or demean anyone. Simply explained what I had received despite the nasty tones and refusal to acknowledge a problem. I appreciate hard-working, professional businesses owners. I've been in the shoes of long hours and someone not being satisfied. This response is very unprofessional and it's disappointing coming from a...
Read moreWe really love the food here. It’s a great go to with decent prices and portion sizes, but we will have to seriously consider if we will be returning or not after our visit tonight.
Our total payment seemed a little high at first but I assumed it was just because I was ordering for three people instead of our normal two and maybe I didn’t estimate enough for tax, but I found after reviewing my receipt that a 20% tip was added automatically to my total without giving me the option to select a tip amount. I was never presented with a tip option screen when paying.
I am happy to provide a tip when I receive good service from a waiter at a restaurant where they put effort and work into my dinning experience, but I generally don’t tip at fast food restaurants especially when I’m ordering take out and not staying to eat.
I do not agree at all with forced tips or gratuity and if this location has started that practice we will likely not be returning. Consumers vote with their dollars and I don’t want to give my money to a company that supports these kinds of practices that I...
