We got a promotion for a free meal at my work. Which was seriously so awesome! I was super impressed they would do that. I noticed it said one flyer per person, but as the manager, I knew my employees would be unable to make it over there one by one. I called and asked if one or a couple people could come and pick up the orders with the coupons for our office and was told yes. So I collected all the orders for my staff and went over to fill them. When we got there, the staff greeted us and they were super kind and helpful. Then the manager came over and had a fit about me filling all the orders for my office. Saying the flyer said one coupon per person. I explained I called and asked and one of his staff members confirmed that I had talked to her and confirmed that I could pick up all the orders for my staff. He stopped my orders and would not fill anymore. He said the rest had to come back on their own. I was extremely unimpressed with how he handled the situation. I felt like the right thing to do was to fill them and let me know next time it wouldn't work this way. Even if he had said we needed to come back in 30 minutes and he would fill the rest that would have been okay. He did say he would extend the coupon for the week, but that doesn't help my staff for lunches getting over there. As a manager myself, I feel like this situation was handled poorly and was a backfire and waste of their...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped for the night on our way from visiting our son and his fiancĂŠe in Durango, CO, to our home in the greater Boise area. Zaoâs was just down the street from our hotel. You order at the counter and the staff put your dish together assembly line fashion, then you go find a table. We told the gentleman that greeted us that weâre new to Zaoâs and he was very helpful. The layout is light and airy, with basic metal tables and chairs. The have âfrescasâ to drink: mango, lime aid, cucumber, and watermelon. Unfortunately, the one I wanted , lime aid, was out of order, and the others were just ok. Still, more interesting than a fountain drink.
We both had honey sriracha chicken bowls with broccoli, carrots, and corn, with a very healthy portion of rice as a base. You have a variety of sauces to choose from; we both had teriyaki. The chicken was tasty. I would have preferred more veggies and less rice but it was very filling. We ordered a side of 5 potstickers but they were dry and not very good.
All in all, I was pleased with our experience at Zaoâs. Friendly service, healthy...
Read moreAsian chicken tacos are very good. I always order them the "Zao's way" They can be a bit spicy depending on how much aioli you like. My husband orders Asian soup with chicken. It's very good and not spicy at all but you can add jalapeùos. I'm very very picky with chicken (meats in general). I've never found any fat or had any complaints here. The teenage boy who made our dishes tonight was extremely nice and answered all my questions with a smile. I'd dare to say he was fairly new in his position because he did have a female employee watching him the entire time. His attitude, demeanor and all around customer service were stellar! I definitely added a to the tip my total. This was our first visit to this Layton location and we will definitely...
