My wife and I have been waiting patiently for a while now for this restaurant to open. We have enjoyed other Asian restaurants in this same location. I must say I am a bit disappointed. The initial impression when you walk in the door reminds you of the previous layout. Everything looked clean and fresh. It was lunch time and busy but not crowded. We were immediately seated. There is not much atmosphere but it is comfortable. They have done a good job remodeling.
We started with soup. I had hot and sour and my wife had wanton. In both cases, the soup was very bland with only the taste of broth. Neither one was hot. This set the stage for the rest of the meal. I think their warming trays are set to too low a temperature. We had Spring Rolls and the Crab Rangoon. Very tasty but only warm. We then each tried several of the main dishes. Again, they were not hot, some were barely warm. Champagne Chicken was by far the best and was hot. General Tso's Chicken was good but there were only a few pieces left. This was the only tray that was empty. The rest was pretty bland. I wish I had gone with the Hibachi, at least it would have been hot. I did not try the Sushi but it did look good. We had ice cream for desert. I wish it had been labeled as to the flavor. The fortune cookie was inedible.
It was a pretty unsatisfying experience but was not terrible. Will I go back. Yes. I want to try the Hibachi and Sushi.
Update!
As promised, I went back to give this restaurant a second chance. I know better than to judge a new restaurant when they first open. There are always things that go wrong. In this case, my second experience was much better than my first. I have updated my rating to 4 stars.
I arrived around noon and the restaurant was pretty busy. As with any buffet, I believe your best experience will be during their busiest time. I started with Hot and Sour soup, Spring Rolls, Chicken on a Stick, and the Crab Rangoon. All were very good, especially the Chicken on a Stick. I could have made a meal of that alone!
After the appetizers, I wanted to try the Sushi this trip. I tried several of the already made offerings. The selection was limited but I bet if you asked you could have gotten many other options. The ones I tried were very good. Exactly as I expected. They were served with condiments such as wasabi and pickled ginger.
Next I tried some of the entrees. They were all hot and the trays were all full. You could see the steam rising from the trays. They were all very good. For my main entree I gave the Hibachi Grill a try. I was a little disappointed in the small selection of items. I would have liked to see water chestnuts, snow peas, bean sprouts and maybe some baby corn. My selection was expertly prepared in about 10 minutes and was very tasty. Piping hot! You can chose between Teriyaki or Soy sauce. I had him add a little heat!
Just like the first time, the service was very attentive and friendly. I never had a empty water glass!
All in all, I like this restaurant. I recommend you give it a try.

Read moreI visited this restaurant looking forward to a delicious lunch. While eating the food I had served onto my plate, I found a strange piece of wire, about 1.5 to 2 cm long, in my food. I immediately called the waitress and showed it to her. She took it away and came back later, saying she had told the manager and asked me to wait.
After about 10 minutes, the waitress returned and said they would give me a 20% discount, then handed me the bill and left. When I went to the counter to pay, I asked who the manager was, and it turned out to be the woman standing right next to me. She just looked at me blankly and walked away. Her name is Helen.
I never received a single word of apology from anyone. All I remember is the manager’s strange, cold look. I couldn’t eat any more after that, but I still paid the full amount. The 20% discount meant nothing to me. This restaurant is extremely unhygienic, and the staff...
Read moreThis place has been completely remodeled. It was shut down in 2019 because of the tornadoes that went through Tennessee. I can say they have made this place wonderful!! The sushi bar is outstanding. Try the volcano roll.. yummy! You can get hibachi and the hot bar. There is a complete menu you can choose to get something to eat for there or take out. They have a liquor license now. They are adding to the bar all the time. Yes you can get beer here or a mixed drink. The owners of Xiaos' are wonderful, nice, hardworking and just all around great people. And they are from Lebanon Tennessee. Been here since 1997. My husband and I go there once or twice a week. Two adults buffet with a regular drink will be $36.20. Completely worth it especially for all they offer and being just wonderful people!! I love love love...
