Good bagels, very nice sandwiches with fresh ingredients, and hand-made cream cheese. Nice selection of different seasonings, especially fond of the Spicy Everything.

NY Bagel Snob review: the bagels are kettle-boiled correctly, so they do have the sheen and crisp crust that seals in the moisture when baking. They so not appear to be proofing them overnight, they have an early morning crew that gets there around 4am to start bagel production and they let them proof for a little while at room temperature. If the customer gets there earlier in the day, then it is more likely you get a chewier crumb, if you get there later the crumb will be less chewy and lack the elastic stretch of a correctly proofed bagel. They appear to be using a standard bread flour and not a high-gluten flour (e.g., Gold Medal All-Trumps [available at Restaurant Depot in Chantilly], or King Arthur Sir Lancelot). I believe if they switched to a high gluten flour it would add the expected chew for all of their bagels. I’m writing to share a very disappointing experience I had at your Leesburg location near Fort Evans. The customer service I received was absolutely unacceptable and left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.

I was really exited to try this begels, I live in Ashburn and everytime I pass by this restaurant I always want to try this place with my family. But when I had the opportunity this happens.

The staff was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout my visit. There was no sense of courtesy or basic hospitality, which is the least one would expect when visiting a restaurant. It honestly felt like I was being treated as a burden rather than a customer.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and take immediate action to improve your staff’s behavior and training. No customer should ever be made to feel unwelcome.

This place has some of the best bagels i have ever had. Unfortunately customer service is not quite as good as the bagels. That being said, Emily the General Manaher was being rude.firts she made a mistake on my order which is fine since these things happens but when i got to my table i noticed that i did not have the cream cheese that i ordered so i told her that it was missing and she rudely told me that she put it in the bag and proceed to walked out as i was still talking so i followed her to my table and she placed the cream cheese at my table and repeat the same remark she gave me in a very rude way. I comfronted her later and she said “ if you want i can give a refund and go find another restuarant” Sorry but i will never go back to BKD if customer service is this bad and definetly will not recommend this...
