Dolce & Ciabatta Bakery — Restaurant in Leesburg

Dolce & Ciabatta is the adult version of "a kid in a candy store." For the longest, I've been craving superb quality breads and pastries. Thank goodness for this long bookmarked bakery for meeting my expectation and satisfying my craving. When you walk in, you're senses are immediately overwhelmed by the smell of bread, cookies, danishes and coffee. Your body releases it's morning tension and you're feeling better within an instant. The warm greeting and smiles from the staff certainly add to the elation of tasty treats. I chose the chicken sandwich and the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich (which is more of a pizza then a sandwich). The chicken is cold cut style sliced chicken with crispy bacon, thick sliced tomato and lettuce with a pepper spread on toasty bread. I added a fried egg and Swiss cheese to make it a breakfast-style sandwich because I was particularly hungry that morning. The pizza was great and flavorful and well balanced with the salty prosciutto and melty mozzarella with roasted cherry tomatoes to cut through the richness. You get a complimentary chocolate cookie with a sandwich order which is soft and similar to a brownie. I chose a butter croissant, a chocolate croissant and a blueberry and cheese danish. The quality of the pastries are superb and met my discerning taste. It's difficult choosing menu items because everything looks so appetizing and you don't know what to try first. Luckily, I'll be returning to try every single item...

Get it while you can. I say this not because they are going anywhere.. I say that because if you sleep late and decide to come here at 11 or 12... then by that time what you wanted is sold out. Me and my wife loved the blueberry muffins and chocolate chip ones too. The first time we went was earlier in the morning and the second time was this past sunday around 12 and they were sold out. That should tell you how good the place is.

The bacon egg and cheese on brioche is the killer. People... the bread is so moist and and the sandwich is just mmmmmm. I initially had cowbells Ciabata bacon egg and cheese in the top, and the BKd hanger sandwich as well. But Dulces sandwich may be a top contender. I am gonna be going to make sure its consistent but something tells me they are the real deal. I also tried another breakfast sandwich which I don't remember the name of but it was OK. It was some multigram egg white and avocado sandwich, I wasn't a big fan of it... but those of you on diets may like it.

One more item I do want to add, the place is very very very clean....

I’ve been a loyal customer of this bakery for quite a while, but my recent visit left me really disappointed. I ordered the bacon, cheese, and egg sandwich, but I had a hard time finding the bacon! It seemed like they’ve skimped on the filling, which is a real shame considering it used to be one of my favorite items. The bear claws were another letdown—what happened to those? They used to be big and flaky, but now they’re barely half the size they once were, and the texture wasn’t the same either. It’s clear they’ve cut back on quality, and I’m really hoping this is just a temporary change.

To make matters worse, placing an order over the phone has become nearly impossible. I’ve called multiple times, but no one answers. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re trying to order ahead and avoid the in-store lines. I used to love coming here, but after today’s experience, I’m not sure I’ll be back anytime soon unless they start improving both the quality of their products and their...
