If I could give 4.5-stars I would! We recently visited Ednas for a extended family birthday dinner, because of this we were able to try many of the menu items because there were 15 people in our party—our experience was enjoyable! I gave this an overall 4-star rating for a few reasons.
Let’s talk about the good first: I got the No. 42 Burger with a salad on the side. The salad was BIG, topped with onions, grape tomatoes, some type of cheese, and a light amount of house ranch (it was nice to order a side salad that wasn’t merely a 1/2 cup of iceberg lettuce for once). The burger was also HUGE—7 ounces of beef with a generous amount of bacon and mushrooms (and other amazing things). I would happily order this burger again! My daughter got the Kids Penne Pasta with Pink Sauce and a side of fruit, it was a large amount of pasta and it actually tasted good, for $8.50 this felt like a good deal (even though the bowl of fruit was tiny). We also ordered the Papa Pep Wood-Fired Pizza for 5-year old and 3-year old to share. They both enjoyed it and I will say the taste of it I had I was not disappointed. Their stuffed mushroom appetizer is good. I tried a bite of the Paris Burger as well and it was fantastic!
Now the improvements section: this place is EXPENSIVE (the cheapest plates here are the salads at $13.50 each with no meat, if you want chicken it costs $4 extra). Their regular fries were not good, edible-yes, filled with an insane amount of oil-to the MAX! Don’t waste your time with this item. Their Loaded Sweet Potato Fries were a bit over cooked (kind of crunchy). My sister in law had to send her steak back as it was not cooked to her liking (they were very nice about it and did their best to make up for how rare her steak was). Lastly, after everyone else received their food I had to ask if mine was coming—I am almost positive it wouldn’t have come at all if I hadn’t asked for it.
Overall our experience was great here at Ednas Market & Grille—I will definitely be visiting here again—so again, I’d give this a 4.5-star rating if I could—great food, good service, and a wee...
Read moreWhat a wonderful addition to the Utah County restaurant scene! We came here on a Friday night, knowing Edna’s had recently opened, and frankly, we expected chaos. Instead, we found a very friendly hostess expertly managing the throng of waiting diners. While waiting about 30 minutes, as promised, for our table, we checked out the little market and sampled the flavored lemonades (the roasted peach was excellent!). Once seated, we found a spotless table and perused the menu. Water was slow in coming, which is an emerging thing with Utah County restaurants we’ve found (drought fighting, perhaps?). Our waitress was very enthusiastic about what we ordered - the pesto chicken sandwich and the Paris burger. They start you with pillowy soft focaccia with an absolutely ridiculously good balsamic aioli. My wife is convinced they should bottle and sell the stuff. She also loved the chicken sandwich she got. The chicken was juicy and amply portioned. Her side salad was nicely flavored. The Paris Burger is a must have. Raspberry jam on a burger is a revelation. The meat was perfectly cooked and the onions made for a nice crunch. We did have to wait a bit for our server to stop by the table and when she did, we ordered dessert, the bread pudding. Again, water was as rare a find as a Saharan desert. Oddly if you’re a large table, you get carafes of the stuff. And oddly, they do not clear your table in between your main and dessert. It wasn’t just us. Every table was like that. No clearing until you leave. Interesting quirk. Now, the bread pudding, which we shared was outstanding. Croissant, custard and vanilla is the trifecta of dessert goodness. It’s sweet but not cloyingly so. Remember, this is Utah County, people, and the majority here’s biggest vice is sugar (thanks, Word of Wisdom), and this dessert sates that vice gloriously.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Edna’s and look forward to coming back. There are flatbread pizzas that need trying. There are a few little service quirks to work out, but trust me when I tell you, Edna’s...
Read moreAlthough I really wanted to like this restaurant since it is close to my house and looks so pretty from the outside, the food that we received was severely undercooked. I got the porkchop and it was very pink on the inside and my husband got the meatloaf and couldn't finish it due to being totally raw on the inside. It was so raw that I posted a picture of my husband and I on our dinner date and someone even commented on my photo, "Are you sure your dinner is cooked?"
I thought my porkchop would have a little honey glaze, but it was covered to the point that all I tasted was honey and it got all over my veggies and funeral potatoes which was not pleasant (aka disgusting).
I also wanted to check out the "market" portion of this restaurant, but there was a table right in front of all of the merchandise where people were enjoying their meal. Out of fear of interrupting their dinner, we left without getting to see anything. Not very accessible.
Lastly, we ordered what we thought was a chocolate chip cookie for dessert. The menu seemed to list three flavors; toffee, chocolate chip, and oatmeal. When the waiter came and took our order we asked for one of these desserts and she agreed and then I said "the chocolate chip one please." However, the skillet cookie apparently comes with all three inside and the menu is just not very well printed for easy understanding. The waiter should have clarified that it comes with all three items inside once I specified.
For how expensive this restaurant was and the food that I received, I would never go back. The only thing that was good...
