Houston TX Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Lehi

Never would have thought this place exist here in Utah and myself personally being from Houston, Texas living in Utah. This place was recommended by my co-worker who is from Lehi and thought I give this place a try to see what is the fuss about that makes it stand out. It closely resemble Dave's Hot Chicken in Midvale area but more relax atmosphere inside and a window view of cars and I-15 freeway plus an addition of outdoor seating. By reading on some reviews, there was a long waiting time of getting your food so I took upon myself to come/drive here when they open at exactly at 10:30am and there was only 1 car waiting in the parking lot besides myself. There's no drive-thru also so don't expect that. Once they open, was greeted with friendly and helpful staff to get your order started which makes this place feel welcome, it's a pleasant experience to say. I start off ordering their House Special(mild) so I start somewhere I can handle some kick in spicy but tame. My daughter would order the Fushion Fry w/tender(medium and spicy). We didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to get our order so our experience waiting on food wasn't that bad like others did but then again, we came when they open their doors at 10:30am and there was plenty of staff in the kitchen making peoples order as people start coming in but not as crowded long lines but steady foot traffic and busy like operations. I was impress with their staff asking how we doing, food wise and if we needed anything. Definitely friendly atmosphere where everyone feel welcome and that makes it unique than other fast food place out there so give this place a try and I can't say how this place would be if you would come during lunch er rush hours wise but come early so your dinning experience be worthwhile and a pleasant one. I finally had the chance to try Huston Hot Chicken, and I’ve got to say—the food quality is definitely there. Everything tastes fresh, the chicken is cooked well, and the seasoning has a nice kick without being overwhelming. You can tell they care about putting out a good product.

That said, I have to be honest about the portion sizes, especially with the 3 tender meal. The tenders are on the smaller side—so much so that I found myself wishing there was just a bit more on the plate. For comparison, the tenders at Dave’s Hot Chicken are literally twice the size and, in my opinion, have a little more flavor punch. Don’t get me wrong—Huston’s tenders are still tasty, but when you’re talking “hot chicken,” I’ve had better overall experiences elsewhere.

The sides are solid and pair well with the chicken, but again, you might leave feeling like you could eat just a bit more. If you’re someone who values quality over quantity, you’ll probably be happy here. If you’re looking for that big, bold hot chicken experience with massive portions, you might want to explore a few other spots.

Let’s talk chicken!!! I LOVE a good chicken tender, and I’m quite picky! As for the crispiness, 10/10. The sauce and flavors, 10/10. The thickness of the chicken is great for the price, but I am someone who doesn’t love the thickness of the Chicken wings. My husband loves it, I’m not the biggest fan. The ends of the tenders are divine. I just really like the sauce and the crisp together more than a chunk of chicken with barely any sauce, barely any crisp. The fries were perfectly crispy with a slight Cajun flavor. Loved it. Dipped in the house sauce and it’s so delicious.

The chocolate milkshake is my favorite part. I love sweets and this hits the spot, and cools your mouth if spicy is your thing! :) remember when you were young and you’d get Vanilla icecream, then add chocolate syrup and mix it until it’s smooth?? That is what this reminds me of, and it makes me So happy. It’s a light chocolate flavor, not overwhelmingly chocolatey.
