What a nightmare! For a Friday girls night out, based on the reviews we met at 5:30. Parking was a bit challenging. The restaurant was busy but there were plenty of tables available. It was confusing as an employee told us we had to order at the kiosk. There was a line at the two kiosks and a delay as only one of the two was operational. The ordering process was cumbersome as the kiosk could not for whatever reason add or delete to an order. All of us ordered drinks - and by 6:45 we were still waiting for drinks and our meals. One of our party went to the counter to ask if we could just receive our drinks. We found out then that they were out of Diet Coke, bottled water and also unable to make some of their featured teas as they were also out of product. They were doing a brisk take out business yet customers dining inside were sorely neglected not just our table. When our drinks were ready - you have to go pick up at the counter, the server accused us of trying to get something extra! We were astonished as we had not received anything!!! They finally served us our drinksā¦. And then after another 45 minutes we finally received our meals. While everything was freshly prepared - the execution was off. The pan fried dumplings filling was cold and the dumpling dough itself hard and not cooked thru. They were inedibleā¦. The best thing was the cucumber salad. The noodle bowls were just ok, nothing special plus you have to ask and pay extra for soy sauce chili oil etc. and believe me you need that extra zing for flavor. There were no apologies for the rudeness of the staff, the excessive delay or the poor quality of the food. I understand how students may flock to this place because of freshness and proximity to campus. Myself and my companions all agree that this was a firsthand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe accidentally showed up for the Kung Fu Noodle soft opening today. I had heard there was a new hand-pulled noodle place in town, so that's why we were there, but I didn't realize they were THAT new! So I adjusted my expectations accordingly (I expect slow service and not-their-best at any soft opening) and we sat down to peruse the menu.
There was absolutely no need to adjust my expectations. The service was attentive, helpful and fast. Even better - the food was outstanding! Our daughter got one of the more simple noodle soup selections, while my sweetie and I split dan dan hand pulled noodles, a "Chinese hamburger" (roasted pork and jalapeƱos stuffed in a flat-ish bread) and "spicy potato chips." The texture of the noodles was perfect, but the Chinese hamburger was my favorite - not as greasy as it would have been from a street vendor in Xi'an, but just as tasty! With their location so convenient to campus, I'm sure I'll be sharing a lot of these little sandwiches with my sweetie as we work our way through their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame by for dinner with 3 of us at 5:30pm on a Saturday, so naturally, it was very busy. So busy that we were told the wait would be at least an hour because the kitchen was backed up with dine in, carry out, and online orders.
The waitress (who was very apologetic for the wait) offered our group a seat at one of the tables outside and was kind enough to take our order, but cautioned that it may take a little while before we got our food due to the kitchen being inundated at the moment. Having been here before and knowing how good the food was, we happily waited. She brought us water and did a wonderful job at making sure we were ok while we waited.
Overall, the experience was enjoyable. The food was delicious and well-worth the wait and the service was attentive. Would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine, hand-pulled noodles, and/or mouth-numbing spice from...
