Horse Country — Attraction in Lexington

I have scheduled tours of several farms through the HC office. I will say that, there was a window of time between Dec 2024 and April 2025 when I was less than impressed with the friendliness of the receptionist answering the phone. Both someone close to me and I spoke to someone who acted like she was doing us a favor, rather than appreciating our business. It made us both reconsider whether or not we should even give this organization our business. Prior to that time, and since that time, I’ve had no complaints. The last two times I called for information, I have talked to Karen, and she has been great. Tours are easy to schedule. Most are affordable. The tours that I have scheduled have been wonderful! I’ve gotten to meet American Pharoah, Justify, Maximum Security, Zenyatta, Rachel Alexandra, Mystic Dan, Thorpedo Anna, Render Judgment, and so many others. Also, I have gotten to meet foals and weanlings. I was on a tour conducted by Kenny McPeek’s daughter, and I was even fortunate enough to meet Mr McPeek. I really love the tours that allow for petting of the horses and offer the privilege of feeding them carrots. It is hard for me, as a horse lover, to be standing next to a sweetheart like American Pharoah and to not be able to pet him. I understand why some farm owners don’t want petting allowed, but that doesn’t stop me from hoping that they might eventually relax that rule.😊 Tour guides have been very informative, and I have learned so much on...

Lisa was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Our tour with her was fun and very informative. We had a great time learning about the inner workings of the farm. She answered all of our questions. It was like hanging out with a good friend. I loved that we got to meet the horses (got some good horse kisses), see the pregnant mares, and tour the different facilities on the property. I was interested in the research being done on the farm and the educational opportunities that it was designed to provide. Our tour guide was so friendly from the start of the tour to the very end. My family felt genuinely welcomed to the property. She answered all of our questions in a kind, genuine manner and her passion for the horses was very clear. Our four children really enjoyed feeding the mints that were provided to the horses and the hands on experience of also being able to pet the mamas and the babies will be memories we will never forget.
