Great casual eatery if you can ignore the rude, female server. Food: Ordered the lobster bisque as a side to accompany the jambalaya at 11:00pm at night after leaving the 13th Floor Love Bites February theme. As one of the few places open, we were not expecting access to a full menu, much less good quality food. Lobster bisque wasn't as thick or as anticipated, but the flavor was very rich. It lacked lobster bits or chunks, but I'd order it again due to the flavor alone. The jambalaya was very generous serving, heavy portion of meat on top, sauce was also very rich, rice was cold however. Once mixed with the hot meat and sauce, though, I was able to look past it. Split a bread pudding with my friend, mildly sweet, thick, and too much for one person alone, in my opinion. Definitely split, but not bad if you're looking for a slightly lower sweet profile. Balances well with the vanilla ice cream. Service: Our server, who seated us and took our order, was a middle-aged blond woman. She did stop at our table occasionally, but it was hard to get a hold of her when needed despite this place being half empty near midnight. Overall, I didn't have any qualms until it was time to pay the bill and leave. My friend and me were quite tired, as we did not notice that the waitress had placed the black book on the table or had forgotten. As we waited for the bill, I eventually stood to start putting my jacket on to give a signal that we would like to go soon. She shortly came over and asked "What do I need to do here?". I said the bill would be great. She responded with, "You mean the book your phone is on top of?". My friend and I were apologized and laughed about how we were really tired. Instead of laughing with us, she decided to retort with "You two are very pretty" and promptly walked away. Given that specific line and tone, it was implied she thought we were stupid. My friend and I were left in shock and ultimately disgusted with her comment. Disappointing that women have to pull each other down instead of lift each other up. Atmosphere: Small, casual, has a space for a live band performance. A little too dark inside at midnight for my liking. Overall, a relaxed vibe I didn't mind minus the rude server.

My wife, father & I stopped in for dinner here (around 8:30pm), before driving back to Michigan. I would've been content with a 6/10, (considering the fact that I just drove 5 hours straight from Michigan to Chicago to get my father) I just wanted to eat, and get back on the road. I however, was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food & friendliness of our waiter. My wife & I got the seafood combo dinner (deep fried cod/shrimp/calamari, with fries & coleslaw) the different types of batter/bread crumbs (and flavor of them) were better than I expected (compared to your typical fish & chips that I've had at a hundred different places). The fries were fresh cut, and sprinkled with flecks of sea salt (these fries were probably the best that I've ever had). The coleslaw was home made as well, basic, simple, but the dressing was incredible: A little sweet, not super sour or tart. I loved it. My father ordered the meatloaf, he shared a bit with my wife & I, and I'll tell you this much, I'd be ordering that frequently (if I didn't live 5 hours away). It was so different than your mother's meatloaf, not stuffed with bread, and it has the best tasting sauce on the top of it (not Hines Ketchup). I could write a novel about how much I loved this place (and maybe I kind of just did...), if you're a local, I envy you! I was told by the waiter that they use nothing but fresh ingredients here, and it absolutely shows! 10/10

Stopped in while on a work trip and received some friendly and amazing service from Anita at the bar. The place was huge and the food and beer were perfect. My only regret was the 5am flight the next morning that kept me from really enjoying the place. Next trip I will make sure to stop by on a night I am not flying out the next morning. The wings smelled and looked amazing (didn’t order them) so I will try those next time. Anita made me feel like a regular and I felt right at home with the locals.

DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT! If you park in their lot your car will 99% get TOWED! They had hidden signs in the parking lot you won’t see until it’s too late believe me! Me and my friends attended here parking by the restaurant because we were going to the haunted house right next door after being instructed we could park here, we were going to attend the restaurant anyways afterwards. Came back and our car was towed! Signs are posted facing away and not where you will see them by where you’re parking. There are people that sit in this parking lot in their cars or the shadows and watch you leave your car and hook it up instantly and tow it. If you call them out on it they will threaten to beat you up and harass you. They’re scammers and it’s a scammy business, not to mention the place they tow the car to is not even on Google maps, and when we did locate it, it was 33 minute walk, or 10 minute drive so we had to get an Uber. The towing place is sketchy with a little peep hole to give them the money and your ID, the glass is blurred so they are obviously trying to high who they are. GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT WORTH IT IF YOU’RE GOING TO BE TOWED! Read the reviews on yelp of Vics Towing Company, they don’t care if you have a receipt to this restaurant they still tow and make you pay. And also damage your...
