At first, it was a lovely coffee shop and I thought was a good place to work on my novel, I was trying out new coffee shops in the area. I chose a lovely spot to sit in a soft chair that was in the public seating, as I knew I would be sitting and working for a few hours. I also bought a drink before sitting down. After 90 minutes or so, I was asked to move, as this is the, "bosses chair" and not for the public to sit it in. I clarified that I had been sitting there for the whole time and the employee said, "you have to move."
This chair is next a couch, in the general public seating. While it is near the front door, nothing denotes it as being separate from the other seating.
I did take my things and leave, but then I came back to talk to the owner, to get clarification. He came out all smiles and reiterated what his employee said.
I said to the owner that, "it's odd, that patrons of a coffee establishment would be not able to sit in the seating provided for them. This is not my experience with any coffee shop, ever."
I also told him that if he had a chair that he didn't want people to sit in, then it needed to be marked that way. He mentioned being a small business, which I understand being a small business owner myself.
However, if my establishment had separate seating in the general public area for "the bosses/manager only," I would have it marked. Otherwise it creates an unrealistic expectation for the consumer, instead of a boundary.
My complaint with this, is that if you have seating that has restrictions on it for the bosses or managers, or even people grabbing a quick drink..then it needs to be marked that way. Perhaps a, "this seating is intended for rush orders only, or for our Manager," and not be placed in the general seating area.
People go to coffee shops for the ambience, drinks and yes, sometimes you luck out and get comfortable seating.
I found the woman employee and the Owner to be quite rude, but it is their "small business," so they can be rude to whomever...
Read moreI became pre-diabetic and started to no be able to have sugar. I loved frappes and was sad. I started exploring. I tasted the variety of sugar free syrups and combination and sugar free drinks all over Columbus. On day my friend asked for me to met there to hangout and found this amazing cafe, Mr. Bean. There and only there I can enjoy sugar free syrups and coffee like I used to. My favorite is the frappe with sugar free white chocolate and sugar free vanilla. I get one while I am there and always get one to go. This was amazing. To add to this is the atmosphere with hanging plants above you and around you sending a French vibe is wonderful and relaxing. To add to that the people who work there and the owner are so kind and inviting. I don't feel rushed nor does my drink feel like it is slapped together. And finally...one thing that tops all cafes is the food. So, yes I cheat at times with my sugar, I am allowed to periodically. So this is the place I go to cheat. I love blueberry muffins, always have. I look for softness and how many real blueberries there are in the muffin. Again, I have tried many blueberry muffins and these are superb, the best I have ever tasted. There pastry selection is amazing! All I am going to to is suggest that you just give this place a try. I am positive you will find your new...
