Well since you asked,I tried calling for 45minutes prior to my arrival time, the line was busy seven times. When I got to the store, I pulled into the wrong driveway because there was no lighting to show which driveway was yours... I placed my order within two minutes . As, I was sitting and waiting,I noticed no one has ever remodeled the entire store since the last time I was there in 1971.At that time my sister' s boyfriend used to bring my whole family pizza. It was quite delicious.a medium crust with corn meal pressed into the bottom, sauce was sweet ,and spread out on the crust, the cheese was spectacular and was on top.Baked to a well cooked balance of dough to sauce to cheese ratio and we would drive from Phoenixville and have a pizza in 20minutes..today I waited an hour to pick up a" Special"The pizza crust was over worked smashed into corn meal on both sides which caused the crust not to rise..the cheese was second and the sauce was thrown on the top of the cheese with a tablespoon from a sauce pan measured out from a bucket with a one cup laddle..The reason I know this .. because I just sat from four fifteen until five thirty to pick up the food, watching this experience...All of it should be re-evaluated..The food was horrible. Burned crust burned stromboli, and the sauce.seemed like the whole set up was unsanitary, since the pizza cutter was only washed once in and hour.and the pizza builders were sliding on the grandulated corn meal on the floor. No one ever changed...
Read moreA family member ordered a Small Italian Stromboli for me with the rest of our order and literally within TWO minutes, I called to change it to a Large because I noticed it was only $2 more and the Manager, Shane said very adamantly it was already in the oven and they couldn't change the order! They must be Magicians there because I can't figure how they could have stretched the dough, put the different meats, cheese & peppers on it and got it in the oven within 3 to 5 minutes!? And he wouldn't admit that the Stromboli was "oven ready" before my order was placed, either. He told me I could order 2 small ones at $12.98 EACH, $26.00, yeah, right, when a large one was $14.98! He's the manager and didn't have a clue what kind of Salami was in it and I see he can't calculate the math, either!! Seems this joint could use a refresher course in "Customer Service 101"! All I can say is I'll have to think long and hard before I order...
Read moreOh Penny's, Penny's Penny's Penny's. What can I say, except this is hands down the best F'ing pizza I have every had in my hapless life. I'm just saying, no sarcasm. I have been going here for pizza and stromboli every since I can remember, this was a real treat when I was younger, and when they closes the first time our hearts sank low in our Penny-less lives. But by the Grace of God, Penny's returned to it's former glory (after someone else tried to pass of as the original, but let's not talk about that bastardization), and if there is one thing you can count on is... Wait for it. Corn meal, this is how a real pizza should be enjoyed, so thank you Penny's for bringing parties and get-togethers a little bit closer, over the bond of amazing pizza. Seriously it's like one of those cheesy (see what I did there) commercial when people are standing around a table laughing with pizza in...
