Checkin was fine, accept we were told Vallet Parking was mandatory. And an extra 20-30 per night for them to park my car in some lot. Room was nice, clean, all new. We noticed on checking into our room the noise from the street in the room was loud. After our event, returning to the hotel, we went to go to bed and the noise was so loud from "O" Street and 9th, that we did not get to sleep until around 2:30am. We could have been sleeping, or trying to sleep outside on the sidewalk and the noise would not have been any different. If you book here, ask to be on the NON- "O" Street & NON "9th St" side for your room and maybe you will be able to sleep. Then Breakfast the next morning was to be from 6 to 10am. We got there at 9:45 expecting to get the same items available to all others. They were out of rolls, out of gravy for the biscuits, 3 omlets left and they were like rubber and had been there for who knows how long. They had a Pancake machine that was working, but we found it had no batter, but not knowing & after standing there waiting for the machine to work we went and asked a worker and she said they were out of batter, their supplier was out. I said so why dont you put up a sign stating this so your patrons don't stand there wasting time and wondering why it is not working. She said, well the machine isn't even on. I said, well it sure is now, so maybe a sign would be helpful to warn people to not try to use it. Then they shut the area at 10:03am. Then we gave the vallet our ticket to get our car. It was a 3 digit number. We sat and waited for 20 minuntes. With all vallet parking and 3 people getting cars at checkout time it was busy. One of the workers came in offerring a car tag # similar to ours. So we went up and asked, where is our car already, they then realized, told us they thought we SAID ###, when in fact we gave them the Ticket that had the exact number ### on it, and we overheard them explaining to each other the problem, they had got someone elses keys out and pulled up their car for us. Glad I am an honest person and didn't take off in someone elses car. So after another 10-15 min waiting, as the worker couldn't pull our car in because the entry area was full, she drove around the block again and pulled back into the garage and we chased her down and said we would just take it from there and figure out how to get out. For $200 this was by far the WORST hotel stay we have had EVER!! I would really like a refund, but I doubt that will ever happen. Just because a hotel is new, doesn't, by far, mean its a good...
Read moreFirst, my room did not have solid curtains so when the sun is out, you can’t escape it. Also, the showers water pressure is low. Aside from that, the room was normal, I’ve stayed in many of these Holiday Inn rooms over the years.
The owners of this location are very cheap and I’m not ok with it. They charge a parking fee and it’s a valet service. There are no other options. The IHG app says it’s $20 per night, the details on the website say $30 on special event nights and when you arrive, you initial a paper that vaguely states $20-$30 per night. Why can they not be upfront about cost? Why can they not factor this into their nightly rate? They would rather advertise a rate that is slightly less than their competitors and then ultimately charge you more. This is a tricky way to allow them to get away charging you $10 more than you expected whenever they choose. So they charged me $20 per night for valley parking for the two nights I stayed at this location. However when I received my bill, there was an addition fee that was never brought up, a $5 per night NE GREEN ENERGY fee. All of these cost are designed to trick you into paying more and thus generate more revenue for the hotel. They are not perks or added benefits. The low transparency of costs and trickery is very concerning and wrong. Additionally, I did not have a positive experience with the valet service for two times during my stay that I needed them. I had to get something out of my car and they guy just handed me my keys and pointed me to where the garage was and went back to sitting down and messing around on his phone. When I went to check out, they were not very quick to retrieve my car. Not a huge deal, but I’m paying $20 more than I want to for this service.
I don’t like these cost, I don’t like misleading prices and I don’t do business with people who have to resort to tricking its customers to stay in business or line their pockets.
I wouldn’t recommend you give your business to this hotel. I will not be giving them any repeat business if I do not have to. I would recommend staying somewhere else until they...
Read moreI have been a very long standing Holiday Inn Express customer. The price and quality are always just what I am looking for when I travel for work.
First the good: Their GM (Chris I think) is absolute top notch. We did have a little issue with the door locking when we arrived, she immediately took care of it with top notch service and even checked in later to make sure our move was working for us. Definitely an "Exceed customer service" mentality :-)
Unfortunately, this location REQUIRED Valet service and charges $20-$30 per night for this service. And I would be fine with that....if "valet" was actually "valet"
I parked myself as there is no indication at the parking "garage/lot" that it is valet only. When you come around to the front to enter, you do see the Valet lane, but that is after I parked and that is usually an optional service which I usually don't use. During check-in I tried to explain this parking situation when they demanded my keys; that they don't know which car is mine nor where I parked, so the keys would be useless...they insisted, so I handed them my keys instead of arguing. When I went to leave about 30 min later, Valet said "we didn't park your car, here are your keys, go get it yourself."
"Valet"...you keep using that word...I don't think it means what you think it means..... I was in a large party, and most people in my party experienced this. Valet was not happening!!! If you wanted your car, it took over 1/2 hour to get it, even when it was not busy (no cars parked in valet lane, no customers standing in lobby waiting for car). Also, sometimes when you ask for your car, they would give you the keys and say, "it's parked over in that parking lot, you can go get it"..... "Valet"....you keep using that word...I don't think it means what you think it means... especially if I am paying $20-$30 per day.....for you to "not valet"???
I love my IHG and will continue to use IHG for their overall service and quality....but this location needs to figure some things out with their...
