DON'T LET EMILY SERVE YOU!
I want to start by saying that my best friend and I have becoming here since college and at several points since then have been regular customers. There are several of the wait staff that we know and love. Tonight, we had Emily. She is a teenager and we have had great experiences with teen wait staff in the past. I just don't think food services is for her. Our drinks and menus were brought to us by Heaven, who we adore, who told us Emily would be our server. She quickly came to the table, took our orders, and disappeared. Truly disappeared! The place was not super busy and we saw the other employees but not Emily. Our appetizer and my first refill were all done Heaven. Our food came out and Emily brought it. When she asked how everything look my friend reminded her about the dipping sauce for their fries. Emily went to asked for it, we heard the kitchen staff say they would get to it in a minute but Emily needed to add it to the ticket because she hadn't the first time. 15 minutes, goes by during which my friend and I are both out of drinks and still no dipping sauce. During this 15 minutes we kept looking for Emily and she was no where to be found. I took our drinks up to the little counter infront of the kitchen window hoping that someone on staff would walk by and see when I caught Emily out of the corner of my eye standing in the other section. Walking over that way I noticed that there was 2 tables: an older gentleman at one and two teenage boys that Emily was standing by animatedly talking to while Heaven was busy sweeping. I politely asked Emily for refills and let her know that we still hadn't gotten our dipping sauce. There was an exchange with her and the kitchen and then she brought our drinks and Heaven brought our dipping sauce. Upon finishing our meal, my friend decided to time it to see how long it would take for us to get our check. During this wait we noticed another table point out to Emily that the dad and kids had finished their meals but the mom was waiting on a refill to finish hers. They were there when we got there. After 20 minutes with no check, my friend and I decided to just go up to the counter to pay. Emily quickly ran over from the table of teenage boys and asked for our check. We told her she never brought. She gave us a ,"my bad." This is the second time in my life I haven't left tip. I understand that food wait staff don't get paid enough and rely on tips but the service we got over the course an hour and some change was frustrating. I understand she is a teenager and this is probably her first job but if hanging out with your friends who come to see you at work is more important at work then this isn't...
Read moreMy husband and I ate at Denny's in Litchfield il last night around 9:30pm we got there were seated the waitress took our drink order we wanted sweet tea which they were out of and was too late to make more. even though in the time we were I heard several others ask for sweet tea as well. She came back to the table three or four times to ask us what we ordered to drink it took us 10 min to get to even get our drinks. Then she came and took our food order before we had our drinks. we ordered a appetizer and two meals. a table behind us came in after us and ordered after us got their food as did most of the tables around us who also came in after. the waitress then came up to us and asked us what we ordered that it must have been taken to a different table. So she took our order for a second time and put a rush on our appetizers when they came up we could see them in the window she walked pass a few times and finally went to the window took someone else their order then final got ours. when she brought me my food finally it was wrong. I ordered the cinnamon pancake meal and sausage I got regular pancakes and bacon. I had her fix the pancakes and ate the bacon because I didn't want to be there another hr waiting. she offered us a dessert on her which I was to the point I wanted to walk out I declined she did take our drink order off . when my husband asked to speak to a manager and was surprised that the manager WAS OUR WAITRESS. Read moreWent to Denny's on June 23rd at around 10-11 at night. Worst service in the history of ever having been out to eat. Jamie C. was our waitress. She never spoke up, barely took our drink order, sent someone else to take our orders (who was super nice and funny), and then only came back to drop off our food. There were maybe 4 or 5 tables in the whole restaurant - all next to one another, and she never once checked on anyone. She never filled a drink or dropped a ticket off. Scott (saw his name from his shirt) seemed stressed out, but he was helpful. She, on the other hand, did nothing except play with two salt shakers and ignore customers. We all watched her. When we would try and flag her down, she'd walk away and hide. At one point, myself and another customer had to come to the counter and ask for her to get our tickets - which she took another 10 minutes to do. Another customer had to ask for her food/appetizer first because Jamie just let it sit under the heat lamp and let it get cold. If Scott had waited on us, I'm sure it would've been a much more enjoyable experience, but Jamie was the worst waitress ever and does not need to work as a server anywhere! Period. Lost mine and many other people's business that night. Wouldn't recommend to anyone based solely on her...
