I'm 3 months pregnant and today is my birthday. I decided to come to Dizzy's which has been my favorite restaurant for years! I'm 26. I was extremely disappointed by the service I received from a waiter in which I've never seen there before. I overlooked the fact that he gave me a To-Go Bag to put my leftover chips in (shopping plastic bag), but I got mildly frustrated when I finally received my entree and it was not at all what I asked for. Instead of correcting the meal without discrepancies, I was told that he will have to see what they can do because that meal was "what I asked for". Once he came back with the verdict, he said there was nothing they can do based on the menu and what I requested. I told him that I never asked for that and then I politely restated what I did ask for. He brought the menu back and said that I asked for something that wasnt on the menu(note: I ask for the same meal each time I go i.e. shrimp alfredo), he stated "logically" he assumed that I was referring to the Pasta Primavera. I proceeded to state that if I had asked for something that wasn't on the menu I would assume that he would clarify my order. Then his attitude got worse. I asked several times to speak to the manager. I was denied by the manager. My mom was listening to me over the phone and called to speak with the owner because she could hear how I was being mistreated and then the owner spoke with her and told her that she could refuse service to anyone and proceeded to mishandle my mom over the phone. I still continued to try to resolve the situation but Most of the staff said they didnt know what to do and that they were busy so no one could help. Other staff saw what was going on and tried to ignore the obvious disgruntlement. I've never gone through anything like that before with Dizzy's but that was worth reporting. I was too terrified to even eat my food because I didnt know if the rude waiter or the rude owner did something dirty to it. I didnt step out of character, I kept a cool head and was patient. I truly didnt deserve to be...
Read moreI went here for my birthday dinner with my family. I will probably not be going back. The food wasn’t the problem. It was delicious. My husband had the Chicken Spaghetti and I had the 4 Cheese Sauce Ravioli. The only complaint on the food from my group was the house dressing was far too peppery. I’m someone who likes a lot of flavor/spice, and I agreed the dressing had way too much pepper. I have two issues which will cause me to not go back if it is my choice. For one, they charge $3 for splitting a plate. That makes no since. If it is the same amount of food, then they are charging $3 to clean an extra bowl/plate. I would understand if this includes a salad for the other person, but that little line on the menu doesn’t include what that $3 is for. I also am really angry they didn’t have a changing table in either restroom. We ended up changing his diaper at one of the couches in the waiting area. There is room in the handicap stalls to add one in both restrooms. This should have been done when they added a kids menu and high chairs. Originally they didn’t have those when they opened their LR location. I was so tempted to change my sons diaper on the table since we were all done eating. At least, maybe, they might see changing tables need to be added in the restroom. I really hope the owners of the restaurant see this and add them. I do enjoy the food, but I’d rather spend my money at a place that is more family friendly and doesn’t charge money just to make more money off of people splitting plates. Most entrees there are big enough for two people in the...
Read moreDizzy's food is good, but very overpriced. A bread basket- which should be standard- is $3.00! My biggest problem, however, is the service. I went in over the weekend with a dinner reservation for 10 and not only were the tables not ready in time, but we could not get our waitress to come to our table. It took an excruciating amount of time to even order drinks and not once did she ever check to see how we were doing when we finally had our meals. Getting our checks took even longer, even after I told her, "We're more than ready for our checks". When we DID get our checks, they were all mixed up and another waitress, which wasn't ours, kept coming back to the table to ask a few of us what we'd ordered...? When my sister- the head of the party- very politely spoke with a manager about being uncomfortable with the automatically added 18% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, the manager told her it was standard, regardless of poor service, and that we'd all have to pay it. Talk about some VERY unhappy customers.
The purple curtains and the convenient location to the river market may draw you in, but it's not the hip little place it appears. Needless to say, I will never be going back, and the same goes for the other nine people who dined with me on...
