On November 16, 2024, I visited Lazy Pete's after a trip to the neighboring salon. I usually enjoy dining in the area and was looking forward to some fresh fish. After selecting the 2-Meat Combo, which came with fries, hushpuppies, and coleslaw for just over $21, I was initially pleased. However, upon opening my meal, I became disappointed. The fish appeared dark and had a strong, off-putting fishy odor. The shrimp seemed stale, lacking the fluffy and juicy texture expected from freshly fried shrimp. Reluctant to return the food because I typically avoid remakes, I decided to go back due to encouragement from my mother. Upon expressing my concerns to the staff, I was informed that neither a refund nor a remake of my order would be provided. This response left me confused, as I believe that dissatisfied customers should be offered a solution. Even one of the kitchen staff acknowledged that the fish didn't look good, yet the young men at the counter refused further service or any form of accommodation. When I requested an alternative meal, I was told that nothing could be done. To escalate my concerns, I asked for the owner's contact information. The young man reluctantly provided it in a manner that felt dismissive and unprofessional, without offering any apology. When I attempted to reach the owner, it appeared the employee might have contacted them beforehand, as my call was not answered. Unfortunately, I was left with a disappointing meal and no resolution. For diners less particular about their fish, this establishment might suffice. However, based on my experience, customer service fell significantly short. I truly hope the business will invest in training their staff to ensure every customer interaction reflects the quality and care the establishment...
Read moreI went to Lazy Pete’s for the first time today for lunch. I ordered the 2 piece fish dinner and substituted beans for cole slaw to-go. When I got home and looked at my food, I was taken aback because I didn’t have 2 fillets, I had 1 filet cut in half and called a 2 piece. So here I am a grown woman with a “1 piece” fish dinner. I decided to let that go because it may taste good. It was average at best. My biggest issue were the fries which tasted gritty. That let me know they did not wash their potatoes properly before they cooked them. The beans were regular also. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. It’s one thing for a meal to be small for what I thought I was buying but issues with the cleanliness of the potatoes? There are a lot of restaurants around the bowman area who offer a better fish dinner. I really wanted to try the chicken but I ultimately decided to try the fish. Maybe I made a bad decision, maybe they were overwhelmed and this was not the norm but I don’t...
Read moreStopped by here during a visit to Little Rock as they offered something everyone in my crew would eat. I would describe it as one of those hole in the wall type of restaurants and usually they are noted at being surprisingly good.
The first thing I noticed was most of the pricing seems reasonable, especially when their signs noted they sell U.S. farmed catfish, which has gotten pretty expensive recently but those meals including it were fairly priced, in my opinion. I got the 3 meat plate and chose catfish, chicken wings, and calamari. The catfish was thin sliced fillets but they were meaty. The wings were good and so was the calamari. My wife got the 3 piece catfish plate and enjoyed it. My daughter got the boiled shrimp and said it was good. My son got the kids catfish meal and it was more than enough for him and he liked it as well.
Overall, not a bad spot for some fish and other items if you're looking for a spot...
