My son and I visited this restaurant on Sunday around 9ish. He said his food was good, when we received it to me almost an hr later. We started off at the bar, just waiting on a table to come available. It took me longer than I expected to get chips and cheese dip. He ordered chicken strips and fries, now. So we then figured out that the bar tender didn't tell her story right to her manager about my order. First they ran out of chicken for the chicken nachos, no problem, didn't complain. Ok I said I can do or eat w/o the meat, so just nachos w/o meat pretty much. Too make this story short the bar tender is a liar. Its crazy bc when we were waiting on our table, another customer also commented on her about her lying on him, for whatever reason. So watch the bar tender she will lie to make herself look good. When we finally got a table the waiter we had was awesome. I did end up getting my nachos and they were good. So thank you, the food we ordered was good, it was some of the service, I felt like was unprofessional. Honestly I would visit again, it was a Sunday and they were getting slammed bc alot other restaurants were either closed or not seating anymore. We all have bad days, but don't lie about my order, bc u didn't want to deal with...
Read moreInteresting place, though rather quiet on a Tuesday night. We were there looking for food. It seems most places in downtown Little Rock are closed by 10pm. Stickyz is open until midnight. For starters we had the fried green tomatoes, and the artichoke fondue. The tomatoes were great and the dill dip that came with them was stellar. The "fondue" was actually an artichoke dip served with tortilla chips. It was ok.
My wife got the Dixie chicken, a chicken fried chicken with gravy. It was delicious, but kind of a small portion (Maybe we're just used to the face-sized ones we get locally). The side of sauteed mushrooms was pretty good.
I got the Smokey Robinson sandwich, which was really good, but the smoked chicken on it, while very tasty, was dry. The house-made chips that come with it were not remarkable.
Overall the service was good, the food was decent, and the atmosphere was interesting, mostly because of the myriad of knick-knacks, bric-a-brac, and memorabilia that filled every corner of the place.
One last thing. The floor was sticky. I had to wonder if they left it that way on purpose. You know, because they are "Stickyz." If nothing else, that did make it easier to overlook. The rest of ther place was...
Read moreWe went to grab a meal before going to explore downtown and enjoy a concert. We ordered two 3 pieces and a soda. We got the garlic parmesan and jalapeno ginger styles with the honey garlic and cilantro sauces.
Overall, the chicken is good. Nice portions and juicy. The styles were great with good flavor. The sauces were balanced, but there could be a little more sauce with an order.
However, the service was bad. The waitress took our order and disappeared. She came back for a brief moment after the food was delivered, and then we didn't see her again. No refill offers or anything. She didn't even bring the check. After about 10-15 minutes, we were able to flag down the manager, who said something about it being hectic and busy (it wasn't- there were plenty of open tables) and then she said she would send the check over. The missing waitress came by and dropped the check, so we were able to pay and leave.
The disappointing part was it felt like we were being punished for having a small order. And remember that Arkansas allows smoking on the outdoor patio, so if you are sensitive to smoke, pick an indoor seat!
Overall, I don't see a need to return. I can get good chicken at other downtown...
