Convinced the kids to expose themselves to sunlight by taking them for lunch at a new place. Plus boba drinks but that’s another review.

So this place is off the beaten path but it’s actually on a cool street where I’ve ridden my Harley and actually took pics in front of the really old train bridge with my Harley sitting in front of that old train bridge many years ago.

So the location is really cool. Older place in LR. Feels very retro. The place ends up being a lot bigger than you realize just from viewing it from the parking area which is across the street from the building.

The actual entrance isn’t well marked so I really wasn’t even sure if I was going into the right door. I also wasn’t sure if kids would be allowed when I saw signage out front indicating it was a bar serving alcohol on Sunday but I can verify that kids are allowed but after 8 pm it’s 18 and up, according to the sign which I took a picture of and will upload.

Ok so the interior is pretty cool and vibey. I do X-rays for a life long career so I’m very partial to Skellys and they had several dressed up and on display. I love this because I dress up one of my skellys and they are sitting on my front porch right now wearing a floppy garden hat and holding one of my plants on their lap.

You walk in and it almost looks empty and possibly closed but then you keep walking down a kind of ramp and kind of around a bend and there’s a bar and this is where they have menus sitting on the bar and you place your order here then go grab a seat.

Now I wasn’t aware there was a HUGE outdoor seating area until after we had eaten our meal and I kept seeing ppl coming in from this other door and went to go check it out. So just from inside it looks like there isn’t a lot of seating.

There are definitely seating options inside tho for any type of seating preference. They have padded long booth type seats and tables then they have the higher pub style long tables with metal industrial farmhouse type stools then regular tables that seat like 4 ppl.

I noticed 4 maybe more TVs inside so I’m guessing they probably have various sports playing or maybe just whatever ppl ask for.

There’s some kind of stage in a corner near the bar so maybe they do karaoke or have live music certain days.

Now one thing my kids were very excited about was that you can bring your dogs inside this place. And you can order food for them. Burger patties or chicken tenders and something else. Maybe it was fish. Can’t remember. My kids definitely wanna go back and take our Belgian Mal.

So the food was pretty expensive for a self service type bar. I normally wouldn’t spend this much for a low key casual family lunch but as I said I had to bribe my kids out into daylight much less into the city so I was willing to go wild. 😆

My burger and onion rings was juicy, flavorful and well topped. Onion rings fine, could have been cooked a tad bit more but still pretty good.

Catfish was very very fishy but if you like fishy fish then you would like these. The catfish steaks were very thick. Very juicy and moist. I almost worried they weren’t cooked all the way and maybe they weren’t. I don’t eat a lot of fish from other places so I can’t really speak on it with a lot of experience. I know the fish from K. Hall and sons was better and didn’t make me think it was undercooked but the pieces here were a lot thicker. Again could have been due to not being fully cooked which would leave them more full if they aren’t fully cooked.

Other daughter got the chicken and waffles and I was too full to try those but she ate them all so I’m assuming they were pretty good.

The tea was bad. Really bad. Maybe ppl don’t really order tea a lot there so it sits out all day and goes bad but yeah I wouldn’t recommend the tea and had to ask them to change it to lemonade to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

The outdoor area is the big attraction here and we plan on going back on Wednesday for $5 burger day and...

I've been a customer at the RailYard for about a year. I always come in and enjoy the atmosphere. Today, I decided to take my family there. I never been there on a Sunday pretty early, so I didn't know about the Brunch. When arriving, I saw the brunch menu and decided to order the "waffle mich" with a champagne bucket, Tequilla sunrise, and fruit punch for my son. Every time I come to the restaurant; I start a tab because I buy drinks. The waiter approaches the table with the waffle mich and Tequilla sunrise. She also says, " You can go get your champagne bucket', that was confusing because as the waiter you are supposed to bring that to the table. Looking at the plate it wasn't what I thought it was going to be so I decided I would exchange it for something else. The waiter approaches the table once again and I just tell her I didn't want the food, and I was going to order something else. The waiter says " I don't think we can do that, let me get my manger". I never ate any of the food off of the plate, nor did I drink the Tequilla sunrise. When the manager approaches the table, he asks what is going on. I just tell him that I didn't want the food, and I would like to order something else. He asked was something wrong with the food and I explained to him that it wasn't what I thought it would be. He picks up the menu and starts asking did I read it right, I once again tell him that I did, and it was a mistake on my part but I'm still trying to order something else. I had agreed to order just fried chicken and waffles. He picks up the plate and asks my family members " Does anyone want this? Because she still has to pay for it." Once again, I didn't eat anything off of the plate and I had already asked to exchange it. I had just decided to just go ahead and leave but I was going to pay for my sons' drink since he did drink it. As I was walking towards the counter, he is still trying to explain why he feels like I need to pay for everything. When he approached the counter, I tell him that I'm not trying to argue, I just simply want to pay for my sons drink so we can leave the resturant. My auntie approaches the counter, he starts explaining to her his opinion and said I wasn't listening to what he had to say. The manager then proceeded to compare this situation to if you order a $100 well done steak from someone and decided you wanted medium ware (proclaiming that you would have to pay). I step in and tell him that this is incorrect. He also then states " We already opened the Champagne Bottle", mind you the champagne bottle was STILL sitting behind the bar. Once again, he continued to try to argue with me, I didn't get loud with him nor was I upset. I just didn't understand why he was trying to charge me for items I didn't eat or drink. The manager was very argumentative with me and my aunt. Finally, he says that he wasn't going to charge me and to have a great day. I started walking out, as I'm walking out he is STILL talking about the situation. After leaving the restaurant, my card was charged for $5.50 and $44.60. The manager had already said before I left that I wasn't going to me for anything and once again I didn't eat or drink anything. The whole situation was blown out of proportion and he was very disrespectful towards me. As a manager, there is no reason to argue with a woman about exchanging food. Customers were looking very concerned because this guy was being overly aggressive with me. I'm also offended because I come to this establishment every single week. I always spend GOOD money in there, I even recommend other people to try the restaurant out. This matter was very unpleasant and I will never be back. Once again as a customer who really enjoyed coming to this restaurant, it is very sad I was treated this way. Whoever decides to go there, make sure you do not want to exchange any food the manager will argue with you and still charge you for food you did...

Updated: The owner reached out to me and though I've not replied as of yet that says a lot to me. I'm not some big important person but they in my opinion treated me like I was important enough to try to make things right. Anyone who is willing to do that is worth a second shot. Like I say below, the place looks cool as all get out, and I really was looking forward to the "yard" come spring and summer. I added a star just for the prompt willingness to reach out to me. Sometimes we forget about the growing pains we went through in our own businesses and or new ventures.

Looks amazing, and I think that it would be a lot of fun. I know the food is great because I've followed the food truck for years. All that being the case I still can't give this a good rating. I sat for 25 minutes and no less than three waitresses looked at me and kept on walking by without asking me if I needed anything. I asked what I think was one of the owners before I left if I was supposed to take care of myself when sitting outside and he said no. I was polite but declined his offer to help me. I was honestly hangry at that point. I didn't say so, it I was really let down with my experience. I went out of my way to check this place out because it's not close to my home, and I don't know that I'll do it again. Which sucks because the place looks like a lot of fun and I love...

Whoever decides to go there, make sure you do not want to exchange any food the manager will argue with you and still charge you for food you did not even eat.
