My god this place is terrible. Still sitting here waiting for our bill. I ordered the French dip sandwich. It was chargrilled, the meat was SO DRY and burned! Someone in our group ordered a Michelob Ultra that they under poured, apparently cheap beer is a hot commodity here (picture before anyone took a drink attached). At the end of the night I ordered a side of au jus and a side of horseradish for the remaining half of my dry French dip. Despite my tiny au jus side being empty our VERY RUDE waitress brought me an empty ramekin, slammed it on the table and said “here, you asked for this.” The food is terribly over priced and our older waitress really had no business being in customer service, she was so unbelievably rude. We also would have ordered a second round of drinks but since she never checked on us we were never able to. I will NEVER be back. And how quickly we got in on a Friday night tells you how our neighbors feel about this place.
Since I am unable to reply to your reply, I'll edit to add
I find it interesting that you wrote back to argue with my review and end it with "try us again." Lol, that's going to be a no. To spend the time you did to "review the camera footage" instead of having a conversation with your server about why her customer service skills were so lacking tells me all I need to know about your management style. I WAS in the bathroom when the server brought my initial to go box over, I was NOT in the restroom when I asked her for a side of au jus and then she brought me the empty container, so check those cameras again.
Lastly, no comment on why your meat was dry and burnt on my sandwich? Did you not see that in your "camera review"? Yeah, I will NOT be back and I HIGHLY suggest others avoid...
Read moreAs a former restauranteur in very high end establishments, 100% Italian and despicable pasta snob, I have to preface this review with saying my expectations in dinning out are never very high. If they were I would be constantly be disappointed going out. Now, having said that, I can not say enough good things about this "tavern". Talk about low balling! The atmosphere was very warm and staff was exceedingly gracious in welcoming us. Table settings were spotless and well organized. Our waitress was patient, helpful and friendly in helping to make suggestions. I had the Chicken Fancaise and my lady companion had the Steak Salad with a couple of beverages. Once served, the waitress came back promptly thereafter to ensure our dishes were perfect. And they were. This is an issue for me because only in high end restaurants is it a standard and a necessity (which unfortunately even in many high end places is hard to come by). The steak on the salad was cooked to absolute perfection and was tender and as delicious as delicious would allow. My chicken was tender and fried perfectly, the sauce was incredible, the beans were fresh and spot on and the pasta it was all placed over... Oh the pasta!!! Did I say I was a pasta snob? WOW! You'd have to be in a small town in southern Italy to find it equal. Look, you can spend a small fortune on meals half as good at more than the majority of "high end" eating establishments around Denver but I promise you, you will not come close to this kind of overall perfection of a dinning experience at very reasonable prices. 5 stars in every respect.
Can't wait to go...
Read moreWe came on Valentine's Day and thought that because it was a holiday, we wouldn't be able to make a reservation but luckily, we were able. The staff is really nice and we were welcomed warmly. We arrived 24 min before our reservation and opted to be seated immediately, which a high top was only available.
One of the bartenders was our server and she was amazing. I ordered the spicy straw-rita, which was their special for Valentine's and it was so delicious. My friend ordered an Irish red ale.
We ordered the bruschetta for our appetizer. Myy friend ordered the pork tenderloin cooked medium rare with a side salad and I opted for their Monkfish on special. The flavors were good but it appears that our plates were left under the heat lamps for an extended period of time as the pork tenderloin was well done and my monkfish had the texture of an overcooked lobster tail.
When our server asked how everything was, we told her about the pork tenderloin but declined to say anything about the monkfish. She offered to remake the pork tenderloin but it was late and we were hungry so my friend declined (he was also almost done with his pork).
In the end, our server comped the pork tenderloin. I just feel that although it was busy, which is expected on a holiday, the kitchen completely dropped the ball and didn't do anything quality assurance before allowing the dishes to leave...
