Personally I find it easier to stick to the places I know are great and are convenient. Although we live in Parker we happened on a whim to drive to Olde Town Littleton and chanced into finding this hidden gem off the beaten path. After a great dinner we were craving some dessert and walked a block or so off the main drag to give the Inside Scoop Creamery a chance. I loved the decor - old style Normal Rockwell, super friendly staff, and the huge variety of craft ice cream. We all sampled a number of flavors, settled on our favs, and ordered up. The staff person who waited on us was totally patient and didn't rush us. My personal favs were the salted pistachio and key lime which were so awesome I opted for a scoop of each (yolo amiright?!!). My kids went for the waffle cones and once we all settled into the gigantic 70s style formica booths (which were roomy, comfortable, and easily fit the five of us), we savored the incredible tastiness and the kids even managed to share with each other without too much strife. Although its a drive and kind of out the way for us, we enjoyed ourselves so much we'll be happy to make the drive to patronize and support local. We...
Read moreI was visiting my parents in Centennial and wanted to get them our to the house so we took a field trip to Inside Scoop Creamery to get some a refreshing ice cream cone. The location was easy to find, and we were able to get a parking spot right on the street in front of the shop.
This reminds me of the old fashioned ice cream shop that I remember as a kid. There was a wide array of flavors on the menu board, but my favorite thing to do is to walk down the coolers looking at the ice cream that is just calling out my name.
The winner this time with the Minnesota Toffee Crunch (I hope I remember that name right). I am not sure the connection to Minnesota other than it was cold, but is sure did taste good. The scoop was generous and you could get it in a variety of different cones or in a cup.
We sat down in the air conditioned shop and ate our ice cream on this hot day so that it did not melt to fast. I will look forward to my future trips back to Colorado so that I can try some of the...
Read moreWent one evening just to try it. My son got vanilla with hot caramel sauce, my wife got the cherry sorbet, and I got the "Extra, Extra!" Dove hot chocolate with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream in it. All three were very tasty. I found the flavor selection to be a bit run-of-the-mill, though. I've certainly run across home-made ice cream shops in the Denver area with more interesting flavors available.
Had a minor issue with the bill being wrong, but they sorted it out straight away once I pointed it out to them. I was also disappointed one cold and rainy evening when we stopped in here and found it closed due to "inclement weather". I gather that's rather unusual, though.
All in all, it was a good experience, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a better scoop than what you'd get at a...
