Okay fun story.
First of all it's my mistake visiting the branch at 8:50PM but clearly google maps showed it closes at 9:30PM. These people seemed they eagerly wanted to go home. Either they weren't expecting a customer 40minutes before closing time or it's google's fault on putting the wrong closing time in google maps.
I went there to get my wife some desserts and some drinks. Since I don't know a lot on desserts, I usually see what's on the display - where there were none.
I asked if they had desserts left and the girl on the front asked me after a brief silence : "what kind of dessert?" That's when I saw a big yellow plastic bag full of bread and bagels on the counter which didn't seem they were outside the store. I said tiramisu? since that was my wife's favorite. She said they don't have tiramisu ever sold in Starbucks.
Okay that's fair. Since I couldn't think of another one, I gave up and moved to drinks. Told her I need some time to think and she nodded with no facial expression. That's when I got slightly uncomfortable since it made me feel unwelcomed and thinking they just wanted to close up, go home ASAP.
After a while when I decided what to order, another woman was in front of the counter. The bag of bagels and desserts were gone. She looked hangry and I felt a bit pressured.
I ordered a drink - one hot Americano and one cocoa. There were 4 things I wasn't happy while I was waiting for my order.
The people who were working were louder than the store music. They were chit chatting and laughing. That's Okay. I think it's good to work in a happy atmosphere. But why are you angry at me? Why does your voice tone get lower when you're speaking to the customer? Your attitude changes very hostile in front of the counter.
I ordered a hot Americano, not iced Americano. You got the order totally wrong. I wanted to return it but I didn't want to deal with your unhappy appearance. I ended up microwaving my drink after I got back home.
Don't take away the desserts before closing. I totally understand bringing home the leftovers back home. I myself worked in Domino's pizza and I brought a ton of returned or refunded pizzas back home. But that was after work hours. Do you think I didn't notice what that big yellow bag was?
After the drink came out, they didn't call out the order like any other stores. I didn't even know the order was out. The woman who got my order at the counter told me my drinks were out. Hmm.. Did starbucks changed its policy where customers now need to actively monitor if our order is out or not? Was I too ignorant to check on my order?
Conclusion: I wouldn't go to this store. I usually get coffee from Peets which has nicer staff and better coffee than starbucks. The only reason I went here is because I got a starbucks gift card for my birthday.
PS. Is 1 star the lowest score? I'd give...
Read moreNot necessarily a review, but more of a reply to @Joon Im.
@Joon 1.) I've been to this location so many times where from my knowledge, they've never closed at 9:30. They usually close at 9 PM, so that must have been a glitch with Google on your phone. 2.) I've noticed your review was from about a month ago where that was back in sometime in March where this whole epidemic/SIP orders had occurred at. Honestly, when you went in there, who knows what was going on in their minds where they probably were tired, some of them could have been stressed as well. Honestly, if it wasn't for the epidemic, in my opinion--it would have been better.
Also, for those who choose to get their work done at that location when open for that, and if they stay late enough, those employees are really good about informing those customers that they'll be closing in 15 minutes. When you happened to go in there, it was prob. 10 mins b4 closing and idk if any of them informed you that they close at 9 rather than 9:30. Like I've said: from my experiences, I've never known this location to close at 9:30. Also, if you asked them nicely, they prob. would have been willing to remake your drink for you because mistakes happen. Honestly, that's happened to me a couple times w/confusing hot/iced and vice-versa, and I politely informed them that I had ordered it iced...
Read moreBought yogurt and drink and a few other counter items. Went to the counter where they have straws and napkins and saw there were no spoon since I needed a spoon for the yogurt I went to the end of the counter and ask the lady there if she could please hand me a spoon she nodded her head yes and proceeded to make three customers drink after waiting 5 minutes I ask again may I please have a spoon trying to be patient understanding that they were busy but couldn't understand why I had to wait 5 minutes for something so simple. I mean i watched pass the spoons at least twice. She said yes u have to wait..then said you you have to go to the line I'm too busy. Now I am an very patient person but I have no tolerance for rude customer service reps. I waited quietly and watch her pass the spoons many time then make at least three orders while I waited. So for her to be so rude. Like how dare I ask for anything from her. I have been here several times and they have made many mistakes but shrug it off because the kids there are young. But that rudeness I can't excuse. Avoid this...
