From the minute my dining experience liaison sat me to the last minute I was overcome with satisfaction. After Lauren sat me down to review my menu within minutes she had samples of the soups of the day. Both Amazing! I soon shared with Lauren this was my first visit to this fine establishment and asked for recommendations. She provided some and again within minutes shared a slice of tuna salad heaven with me. Come to find out they are famous for it and its a "super secret" family recipe that they even turned down the Oprah show for. Smart move in my book. Being a graduate of the famed CIA I love when I find these gems and they dont sell out. Stick with the roots and foundation of the original dream. In my travels I have often found the people who seek the fame mostly FAIL. Let your food and staff speak for you. And a I digress! So I felt like a warm meal as today was chilly and sprinkling. Lauren told me to try their pastrami....it was everything Pastrami should be! I also had the Matza soup. Guess what? Amazing as well. I bought some to take home. Overall this was a true " Nana" experience. I miss mine more than words can describe and this reminded me of how I felt visiting her and cooking with her. Thank you Nana's and thank you Lauren for the sunshine on a gloomy day. I only took pics of my surroundings because when the food came I just wanted to eat...
Read moreWhen I was growing up my grandparents used to get me sloppy joes here (I used to think my grandmother owned the deli because we called her Nana).
I got married in Brooklyn this weekend and knew from the beginning that we simply had to have it catered with NJ sloppy joes to introduce all the guests to our culture (and truly these sandwiches are our culture).
We called all the delis that are famous for their sloppy joes and got the runaround when we asked if they could deliver to the city. Jason at Nana’s Deli said “no problem” and personally drove 15 sloppy joe platters to Brooklyn himself. The staff at the venue commented on how especially courteous the delivery was.
The price was right and the service was exceptional. The platters looked beautiful and came with kale for decoration and a nice big tray of pickles. My sister the vegetarian said she enjoyed at least five pickles over the course of the evening.
100+ guests got fed, everyone loved the food and I am eating the leftovers right now. We couldn’t be more thankful to Jason and team for making our celebration something truly special. My Nana and grandpa aren’t around anymore but I know they would get a kick out of our catering choice. I’m overjoyed that a ton of guests from all over the world got their first taste of a perfect sandwich that represents where...
Read moreThis deli is an absolute gem! The food was nothing short of incredible — hands down some of the best deli meats I've ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. From the pastrami to the brisket, each bite was perfection.
The customer service was just as impressive as the food. The staff was warm, welcoming, and truly made us feel like family. Jason, the owner, clearly takes pride in what he does — his passion shows in every detail. He's not only running a top-tier deli, he's also setting the standard for hospitality.
And speaking of family, Jason’s son is a standout in his own right — he’s got the charm and presence of a future hall of famer. The whole experience was just memorable from start to finish.
If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Jewish deli fare with five-star service, look no further. This place is...
