San Diego Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Locust Grove

I stopped in because the food is always good. However this was the first I felt overlooked. I came in right before another couple came and had been sitting there for a few minutes. After they seated the couple. A waitress came over and said someone would be over soon. I asked if o could go on and order my drink and an appetizer. She checked on the couple and came back out to wait on the couple. They ordered a drink and their food. The couple’s drinks come out and a few minutes later a guy brings my drink out and gets ready to walk away. I asked him was he going to take my order? He said I thought you ordered already? I said no. Gave him my order and reminded him that I also ordered water. My food came out it looked really good however when I asked for salsa and sour cream. It was as if I was bothering them. After I got those items. They never came Over to ask me if everything was ok. But did check on the couple several times even asking if they would like more coke. The couple’s drinks come asked for their ticket. And left the restaurant. It was about 5 minutes later before anyone even came over to ask me If I needed anything. I asked for My check and to go trays for My food. I asked for extra salsa and chips. And willing to pay for Them and did. But I did leave wondering if my money spent the same in this restaurant. Only left a 5.00 tip which I felt was less than they deserved. I don’t come to this place too often but my past experiences was never like this. Did not Leave...

It was semi-busy on a Wednesday night. My husband and I were seated quickly with no wait, but forgotten about once we sat down. We ate a whole thing of chips and salsa with nothing to drink before a waitress finally came up and told us no one was aware we were there, and took our drink orders. We also watched at least four servers make eye contact and ignore us before the nice lady came by and addressed us. Our second waitress brought our drinks and said oh my bad it’s my second day, even though we’d had her as our waitress several months ago. We got our beef and cheese dip, and two bites in my husband pulls a LOOOOONG blonde hair out on his chip. The third waitress we had by this point walked by, asked if we needed anything, followed by a huge scream (when I pulled the hair chip out) before I could tell her that we just wanted a new cheese dip. They got us a new one (that had onions added to it) and she proceeded to explain that it was only an onion string, not a hair, because they use an immersion blender in their cheese dip, in case we find anything else like that in our new cheese dip. Okay... I cook frequently, own an immersion blender, and I’m also a hair stylist. I definitely know the difference between an onion and a hair.......a simple apology would have sufficed. First I would like to note I gave the manager/ owner every opportunity to get our situation right. I ordered a special margaritas and it was horrible. It tasted like they forgot the tequila. I told the waitress how to make it and it was returned much better. We then got our food. I got the chimichangas and they were soggy. I notified our waitress and she notified the manager. The lady Sked what was wrong, I showed the dish, pushed on the soggy untried tortilla and she asked if there was anything else she could get me since I was very displeased with the changes. I asked for a GRILLED chicken taco since I was full off everything else. Well they brought out a shredded chicken taco with barely any chicken not the grilled chicken. After a few minutes the grill chicken came out. It was wonderful. I told them how excellent I thought it was. So when the bill came she had taken off the $4.95 taco but left on the $13,99 changes! I laughed. The check actually said "didlike" the taco. This is restaurant manager 101. If a customer is dissatisfied with his meaj...comp it of its obvious. Don't leave the more expensive menu item on so you can maintain your little profit cause look what happens! On top of it all, my son said his Loco burrito was bland with no taste. Nobody is perfect but with the prices they charge, we should not have toto pay for bad...
