On New Year’s Day, we ordered online for a pick up order. It obviously took longer for our food to be ready as it was a holiday where many dine at Waffle House. After arriving, I sat in the car for about 5 minutes finishing up a phone call. I noticed a man walking out with a large order that looked to be a larger one like mine. Not thinking too much about it, I went in and was told someone had just picked up my order. I knew that was not correct. I remembered the guy walking out with the large order and I quickly put it all together that he was the man that they gave my order. I asked what his name was and where his ticket was. I was told, AFTER the lady looked at my ticket and online order to figure out my last name, that he used that same name as well. I knew this was false as I did not know him and he didn't know me. Instead of coming forward with the mistake and seeing how they could help make it right, they continued to deny wrongdoing of not appropriately identifying him or his order. I asked if I could get my money back for my $70 order and was told no because they would be out the money. I questioned Frank, head cook, and Cindy, manager, as to how that was right that I should have to pay for someone else’s food that they FAILED to confirm identity and order for. They again refused to help in any way except to remake the food and have me wait. Only after I told them that I would take it to corporate when reopening after the holiday, did the head cook, Frank, come back over to me and say that what he MEANT to say was that he COULDN’T refund me because it was an online order. I told him that was not true as he told me no such thing, nor did he offer to help initiate a refund from corporate, or it would have been a different scenario. I am a very forgiving person as I know we all make mistakes but the lack of respect and honesty was appalling. On the way out, another employee told me she was sorry I was treated badly and agreed it was wrong. I do not normally write bad reviews, only good reviews as I know the importance of good reviews for businesses. However, the treatment I received needed to be shared in hopes of others not...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to grab a quick bite from Waffle House this morning. We stopped on our way home to grab some food to go. There was a new person at the counter who said that he was the manager who took our order. He got our order wrong twice, and our hashbrowns and eggs had to be made again each time. We asked for sugar-free syrup, and we were incorrectly told that they didn't offer it. Upon getting our order and preparing to pay, we noticed that there was a miscellaneous charge of 4.99. I asked about the charge, and the person who claimed to be the manager informed me that the charge was added to all to go orders. Mind you that he had just asked me for, and I was charged for a tip. What is the 4.99 for if not to tip? I had never heard of this charge prior to today and have never been charged for ordering to go before. And to top it all, we were only made aware of this charge after we inquired and had waited for over 30 minutes for our food ,with only two other customers in the restaurant. This is totally unacceptable, and I feel like he took advantage of us. I will be reaching out to corporate to get a better understanding of how they are charging additional money for...
Read moreThe place was packed when we got here. We had to wait for a table, the bar was even full... it was between 2 to 5 people per table, 4 at the bar and 2 at the end section with One cook and one waitress. I watched Ellis the cook-busboy-order taker-drink refiller, server, etc... He asked each and every customer if they needed anything, apologized for the wait and thanked everyone for their patience with a smile. He was literally getting pulled in every direction possible the waitress even asked him to call someone because the register had no money to give change. I just wanted to let Waffle House know they have an exceptional employee. Being in Management in the hospitality field I pay close attention to detail. The kitchen was clean, he changed gloves everything he left the grill, each drink/coffee refill and never missed a beat. This gentleman deserves to be recognized 👏, he is definitely an asset, treat him right and he will make this place continue to shine. You can see that Ellis enjoys his job. He goes above and beyond for a customers satisfaction. Oh by the way the food was cook to order and...
