UPDATE 10/2019 I have contacted Takle and have found the support staff very attentive to my needs. I returned to get my prescription updated at no charge, and Brittany reviewed my dry eye protocol and gave me a few tweaks that have made my eyes feel even better!
I cancelled my appointment with the other doctor.
I went in because I was getting a lot of eye strain and headaches from using the computer. I thought I might need to update my prescription or get a set of glasses just for computer use.
The doctor told me that my prescription was fine, the problem was that I had dry eyes. Then she told me to come back and get fitted for contact lenses. I was not interested, as I have tried lenses before and didn't like them.
I went home and followed her recommendations for dry eyes and noticed a difference right away, but I was still having to tilt my head up to see my new, larger, computer screen.
So, I went back a day or two later, to see if they would give me my prescription so that I could go someplace else, or just order online.
Guess, what? They never updated my prescription. I was told to come back, and while I was getting fitted for contacts, my prescription would be updated. At an extra cost of course. Then I would be given lenses as a trial to see if I even was a good candidate for contacts.
Wait, what??
I just want a pair of glasses for computer use.
I will bite the bullet and pay again when I go see my former doctor who has no problem prescribing...
Read moreTo start, I called the office on a Wednesday to obtain an initial appointment for cateracts. The lady that answered the phone was very nice! To my surprise, I was able to secure an appointment the very next day! I arrived at my appointment just a few minutes ahead of my time. I noticed approximately 10 people were waiting. I walked to the front desk and was greeted by a lady with a big smile on her face. She was very friendly. The paperwork I had to complete took about 5 minutes. I handed the completed paperwork back to the receptionist and sat down. About 10 minutes later, I was called. A very knowledgeable and sweet young lady with long blonde hair guided me around. She did all the tests, exams, and preps that were needed before seeing the doctor. She has a very warm personality. She answered all my questions. Time went by very quickly. When the doctor came in to do his final "exam", he was pleasant and professional. He explained the procedure and my specific cateract situation. Afterwards, I was taken to a woman to talk about scheduling the actual surgery dates, financials and surgery preparation. I'm happy that the surgeries will be a week apart. Read moreI’ve had the worst experience with this place. I would not recommend, especially if you’re in the business for lasik. They’re clearly inexperienced. I saw a Facebook post from a mutual friend and was in the business for lasik so I reached out and scheduled an appointment. They failed to tell me I needed not to wear my contacts for two weeks prior to appointment. I was at my appointment for over an hour before I was informed that it was all a waste of time due to their lack of communication. I then called back to the practice after leaving to see if someone could help me with pricing to see if rescheduling was even worth my time. I was told, on Friday, someone would return my call on Monday. No return phone call. The practice administrator eventually reached out, while I was busy at work. She left a message apologizing. However when I returned her phone call the following day, twice, there was no answer, nor return phone call. During this entire process I was also told by an employee that I should just go somewhere closer to my house that performs lasik. (I live 35 minutes from the practice) I will add that Dr. Coggin was friendly and seemed knowledgeable and I would’ve appreciated having been able to use him.
