Mother's Day Disaster - had a 12 pm reservation, took about 15 minutes to get a server to our table. Apparently, the team just rolled out a brunch menu but were completely unready to handle the orders. We placed our order (two steaks and one biscuits and gravy) .... about an hour later, still received no food. The waitress (who was the only pleasant person in the experience) came by to apologies and say the kitchen was completely backed up on getting orders out and was just waiting on food. About 10 minutes later another woman walked up to our table and said "sorry we don't have biscuits and gravy" ..... literally telling us 1 hour after placing the order. We told her we were leaving. Then the original waitress came back, we told her what was just told to us and she was outraged that it took them that long to state that fact ... she said our meal would be comped and asked my mom what else she would like ... she ordered the fish. My mom politely asked the waitress ... who was fuming by this point at the incompetence of the kitchen staff, where the management team was ... she said management was hiding.

About 10 minutes later our food finally came out ... my medium rare steak was terribly dry, the other steak was cooked completely wrong (she asked for medium well done to avoid blood and got a medium rare steak) ... the fish was apparently okay. After quickly eating our food the waitress brought the check which was comped about 75% of the way .... but still the food was mediocre at best.

We were not the only table, multiple tables walked out as they similarly waiting 1.5 hour for food. One table finally received food and it was cold - they just left the food and walked out. No management came around to apologize. Overall the experience was pretty bad ... and on mothers day no less. I felt bad for the servers who were trying to handle to mess of the kitchen and lack of management. The restaurant must have lost thousands $$$$ on comping people that day.

**Update - Updating my review from 1 to 3 stars, management reached out and explained the situation to me after the fact and worked to correct the issues; while the service that day was still pretty rough I feel now it was probably a hiccup that will be rectified going forward. Thanks to the Harry Caray team for reaching out and looking forward to trying out the restaurant...

Before I begin my review I want to note that we have a diverse background in dining experiences that has refined our palates. After shopping during the holiday season, we happened upon Holy Mackerel! The dimly lit restaurant was adorned with rich Christmas decor adding to the ambience of modern class. We were immediately greeted by the hostess, who sat us in a booth per our request. Then, we were presented with both the Holy Mackerel and Harry Caray's menus. Shortly thereafter our server, who was quite knowledgeable, asked if he could take our drink order. The attentive service was balanced yet timely. From the Mackerel menu we ordered the salmon with rock shrimp potato hash, kasu marinated sea bass, and scallops. It is rare to taste melt in your mouth scallops, filet of salmon, and sea bass that was perfectly cooked. The pairings of each dish are spot on, but do not overpower the fish because entrees are not drowning in sauce or slathered with ingredients that mask the seafood taste. We did order wine, which was fairly priced compared to other restaurants we have dined at. Our party has returned to Holy Mackerel for a total of three visits, especially after dining at Reel Club in Oak Brook. Holy Mackerel's prices plus gourmet preparations exceeded our expectations compared to Reel Club, which we felt was overpriced for what we were served. There truly is something for everyone, since you are presented with both menus. In all of our experiences the food was palate popping, service attentive, and the experience gourmet. Lombard is lucky to have such...

So today started off really well, at least for me. I was stay at the hotel that they so conviently connected to, i decide to grab a bite. I walked in greeted very nicely and found a seat for one. I order the alskan salmon which was fantastic in flavor. But i found a couple bones (scales) in the salmon. I told the bar tend you may need to tell the chef just in case i was cool about it. But the bartender insited that the manager should be told about this, i said ok. She comes over just absoultly insuling my intellagence saying "fish come with scales". I told her it was good but i could of choked in it, then she walked away no apology nothing. I was flustared moved my plate to the side aggresively and she asked me to leave the establishment. I will never go there again and i will get this news ro the owner of this establishment about his disrespctful...

I ate here two separate times during my trip. Once was for lunch and the second was for dinner. Both meals were pretty outstanding, but it is pricy. The burger I had for lunch was simply delicious and was everything you really could want in a burger. The steak I had was the 45 day, wet-aged, bone-in ribeye. This steak wall well prepared, cooked precisely how I wanted it (medium-rare), and was exceptionally juicy, tender, and flavorful. The sides left something to be desired and the side bread with dinner was so stale I could barely chew it. Bottom line, the main courses were delicious, but pricy.

Stopped by here for a Powerlifting competition. My friends and I stopped by here for breakfast. We ordered the breakfast sandwhich, breakfast biscuit sliders with bacon, sun rise skillet and the huevo rancheros wrap. Food here is delicious and prepared really well. The salmon was really fresh and the bacon here is quality. Prices are reasonable and the servers here are really friendly. The coffee here is decent and I'd rather come here than the over priced hotel Starbucks. I'll definitely be back in the future to try some of their lunch and dinner dishes.

First and foremost, kudos to the server. He was very good with his job and he deserves a good tip. He even got creme Brule free of charge. Food was very good as well. It was a bit pricy but I expected it because the food was of high quality. I made reservation but seated immediately. I guess our time was best. There was a few people and so many empty tables. The ambiance was nice and a bit dark. Seems very intimate setting. Overall it was great. Good server, good food, good table.
