I’ll let start by saying I really enjoyed this gym when I first started. I appreciated the team members here, one of the girls name was Jess who helped me out when I was first signing up. She is super nice and I can tell she really cares about what she does. Anyways, getting to the 2 stars. At the beginning of the year I broke two bones in my foot. My account was originally frozen but then I was charged the full amount in March. I called to see if I could get a refund and a cancellation on my account since I was injured and would not been able to attend the gym for the remainder of my membership. I was introduced to the gym manager Mike who has made this experience incredibly difficult. I have a series of texts trying to get help on this, him stating it will get processed, and then never responding back to my messages. I had to remind him CONSTANTLY about my membership and refunds. Keep in mind he never once told me I was not capable of getting a refund. Then when I would text him again, he would leave me on read. Like bro, at least turn your read receipts off. Said it would take a certain amount of business days for it to get processed, then that time would pass and more, and he never followed up. I had to constantly chase after this man over this issue when he advised it was being handle. Well it never was. I never got my refunds. My membership WAS canceled thankfully, but it took far too long to do when it shouldn’t have taken so much time. I even provided more than one doctors note. The entire time I kept my cool and tried to be as respectful as possible, but towards the end I was so fed up with this mans poor communication.
All in all, this gym was good. But because of mikes inability to communicate properly, I can no longer attend this gym in the future or recommend it to anyone. I advocated so much for this gym in the beginning bc of the team members listed above, but MAN this dude was terrible to work with.
Good luck to any future members having to deal with him or any sudden injuries that require a cancelled membership/refunds. Strap in, you’re going for a...
Read moreUFC is a very nice gym. I and my fiancé joined because we both work night shift and needed a gym that was open 24/7. Once we joined we were going faithfully for approximately 2 months an then they stopped operating 24/7 due to COVID, which is understandable. Due to this, my fiancé and I were unable to go during the day so we spoke to a customer service employee who suggested that we freeze our account until they were able to operate normal again and we didn’t have to pay. Believing this was the best solution, we took his advice. Approximately 3 months later, UFC Lombard unfroze our account without telling us and started collecting payments. Thinking they were slick, I changed the my form of payment and I got a phone call stating I needed to continue payments. They were explained how we were educated about freezing our account until they were operating back normally. They proceeded to tell me that that is not a thing and that I needed to make a payment. I argued with them that the reason for joining the gym was to utilize the 24/7 aspect. Ultimately, we owed over $300 after freezing our account and decided to close it. I’ve spoken to multiple other member at this gym who experienced the same issue and warned friends who asked how this gym was before signing up. Not to mention, I never received my key access because they kept “forgetting” to make one under my name so I had to call every time I wanted to be let in. My fiancé had one though. There is light at the end of the tunnel, my fiancé an I recently joined Lifetime Fitness and couldn’t be happier. I received a call from UFC asking to return and I “nicely” declined...
Read moreI have been a member of UFC gym Yorktown since August and I love it there. The first time I went I was given a tour of the whole facility and a free class to try. I have joined other gyms in the past and none of them compare to UFC gym. They have weights, machines, cardio area, fitness equipment available, and tons of boxing bags. My favorite is that they have daily classes available. From boxing conditioning to killer cycle class to circuit breaker their treadmill class. I love the variety and always feel awesome after. The coaches are all super motivating, no class is the same and they keep you moving and it’s always fun. I signed up to do my personal training with Dania. She is absolutely AMAZING! From the first session/assessment she was attentive to my goals and answered all my questions. No session is ever the same. She has thought me so much about different exercises and machines that I didn’t know how to use or were even there at the gym. I have added those exercises to my routine now and always have a plan when working out. It never gets boring. Through our session she always keeps me motivated, cheers me on and keeps me going when I feel like quitting. She is always available when I have questions whether I’m at the gym or through text as far as workouts and nutrition. Dania is such a positive person and an asset to the gym and her other clients and I would definitely recommend her as a personal trainer and coach. UFC gym Yorktown is a friendly and family like atmosphere from the moment you walk into the door. I’m so...
