Stefano's LBI continues to set the standard in the atmosphere and service. This is the special dinner experience we look forward to on our annual week outing to Beach Haven. Over the years, the food and service have been amazing. However, to be truthful, this past visit on Wednesday evening has left me disappointed. I ordered an appetizer of the clam Chowder, and Stefano's prepared it "Rhoad Island Style," a nice combination of the New England and the Manhattan style combined. It was fantastic! The dinner salad was also very nice with the house made Parmesan Peppercorn dressing. My disappointment came with the entree. I ordered the "Risotto Del Mar," the dish came out hot and with a great flavor profile. At first, I was impressed until I got to the asparagus. Every piece of asparagus in the dish was fibrous and as tough as a twig. Completely inedible. I ended up spitting out the asparagus in the beginning, and then I just gave up and removed every piece from my dish completely. Sadly, when I realized this, my waitstaff was nowhere to be found. It wasn't until he came back with the dessert presentation that I was able to let him know this. Overall, my server, Bryce, was polite and understanding. However, the kitchen can do better. This establishment has a great reputation to uphold as being one of the premier seafood restaurants on the east coast. Please figure out how to cook your asparagus tender on the dish or omit it completely. No offer of a discount or compensation for the substandard dish was offered. I may need to reconsider visiting this...
Read moreBeen to many fine dining places on LBI in the 8 years I have been coming down here and this one is up there with a pretty decent Italian meal. Sure there were a few areas that could of been better but in all this was a decent menu with all sorts of selections and even some tasty specials. The place is not that large and seating inside and outside. Parking here is very tight and you either have to park in their tiny lot or on the street, don't even think about parking in the Verizon lot across the street or Dairy King next store. Place here gets pretty packed so wise to make a reservation. Service is prompt and attentive and pretty helpful and friendly.
Food here is not just your standard past, but all sorts of Parmesan dishes, some pasta, a lot of seafood pasta and risotto dishes and also some chicken and steak dishes. Appetizers were delicious and bread brought to table is hot with garlic butter or olive oil. Entrees are large portions and there is a side salad with every meal. I ordered veal Parmesan and it was huge and tasted good, could of done without the plain boxed tube pasta underneath but in all not a bad dish. Dessert was very good with all sorts of selections which were delicious. Prices here, well its one of the finer dining places on the island and you will pay handsomely for this benefit so bring your wallet. Not a bad meal out of not many great places...
Read moreVery nice and bright atmosphere with soft, gentle, appropriate dinner music. BYOB. Entrees served with house salad and bread. Roasted garlic butter provided is very tasty. They also put a small bowl freshly grated parmesan cheese on the table. The clam chowder (NE) was very good, best we had all week, my uncle said the seafood bisque was amazing. I got the broiled combo. Shrimp, flounder, crab cake, scallops and fries. I was disappointed that the items were put on top of the flounder and all broiled together. The result was overcooked shrimp (which had a faint ammonia aftertaste), scallops (which still had abductor muscles on them)could have gone a little longer and gotten a little browning from the broiler, and the flounder, which had little exposure to the broiler, was almost tasteless, the crab cakes were perfect. I really expected that each element would be cooked individually to perfection...So I was disappointed at this lazy approach. Platter also had clams casino, which were very good. My wife got the seared scallops which were done very well. Other entrees were also praised. Dessert tray very tempting, but too stuffed to attempt. Definitely a $$$- $$$$ restaurant. Service was...
