Alsace Lorraine Bakery — Restaurant in Long Beach

My friend brought over a beautiful fresh Quiche Lorraine. Previously was very tasty, but this one was a mouthful of onions! Big chunks of onions with hardly any bacon. I was so disgusted I threw my slice away. I was thinking that maybe I was getting a bad slice so the other half of the quiche was dissected with a fork and I found two half strip of bacon not sliced inside the other half of the quiche. Who ever made this never thought about creating a balance of onions vs bacon (same size pieces) not huge chunks of onions and strip of bacon. It was not like the other quiche we had previously was very delicious. Somebody at this bakery needs to learn how to make this right. I have been getting my baked goods from Alsace Lorraine's for over 20 years. I'm always pleased no matter what we get. I love that they make Stolen at Christmas time with & without marzipan in the middle. My family is German & my mom always made 25+ Stolen at Christmas just like her mother did to give as gifts to family & friends. I took over the tradition but now I'm disabled & unable to make it. I was so pleased when I discovered that they make Stolen here. It tastes just as good as my family recipe. My husband loves their Mexican Wedding cookies & I love their Chocolate Chewies. Couldn’t find a doughnut shop in the new area I moved in, so gave this place a try had the softest Cheese filled croissant topped with powdered sugar, was so good full of texture, not air. Their selection looked the best I’ve ever seen anywhere, and tasted even better. Seems they’ve got an excellent pastry chef there at this time. The lady was very friendly with great rapport.
