I used to love coming here to eat, but the last few times I have visited, there's always an issue with the food for me. The quality just isn't what it used to be. Either that, or they are purposely giving me the scraps which clearly says to me that you dont want me there. Message loud and clear. They dont have to worry about me ever returning again. I just got upset when I was reminded of my last experience a few days ago. I didn't leave a review then, but I have time today. Anyway, I believe it was either Monday or Tuesday. If the cashier or the cook reads this, then they will know I am telling the truth because they will remember. I ordered a Carnitas burrito with verde sauce cut in half. From past experience, I know to stay there and watch them prepare my food. Whenever I haven't, they would always leave something off that I paid extra for .. like cheese for example, or cilantro and onion...Just little stuff like that..so anyway as the cook is placing the meat in the flour tortilla, from where I was standing it looked like big chunks of fat. I thought I was tripping and didn't want to make an issue, so I said nothing...Maybe it was just once piece and I can pick it out once I get it. This is what I justified in my mind...No problem. So I get to the car, opened my bag, and notice the napkins stuffed in the bag are greasy. Luckily I had him cut the burrito in half, because I was instantly able to see that was something I didn't want to bite into. It almost made my stomach turn. I pulled out 3 big chunks of fat.. absolutely no meat on those pieces..Just straight thick fat chunks. Like why would you mix that in a customer's burrito? You cannot convince me that this wasn't intentional, because he can clearly see the meat he puts on the grill.. He just didnt give a crap, and has no integrity about treating all customers right..I calmly go back inside and spoke with the cashier and showed her what I pulled out. She then goes on to explain that carnitas has fat on it.. I said "ma'am come on..you know good and well, Carnitas doesn't come with chunks of fat like this, and you know u would not eat this. The whole burrito is full of grease. She offered to make another, but I declined. There is no way, I would ever trust that cook preparing anything for me ever again. They have lost my business forever. I'm sure they dont care.. but I hope this review helps the next person. Pay attention to your food before you leave.
I will say this, The owner has always been kind to me over the years, so I don't want to bash him at all. I'm not sure if he was there or not. I didn't even think to ask for him so that I could explain the situation because there was no point as far as I was concerned. His cook caused him to...
Read moreFood is decent nothing spectacular. Would have gotten 3 stars but one star is based on the experience and customer service. Here's my story. I call in my food order ahead of time to get in and get out, at 8:23 pm to be exact, the cashier tells me 10 - 15 minute wait. I arrive at 8:30, there was a line. I was unaware a phone order can be picked up and paid for ahead of everyone, since there is no ASSIGNED SIGN or was I informed when placing my order, anyways I wait in line I finally pay at 8:53 pm. Once my order was paid the cashier informs me I do not have to wait in line next time cut the line pay and get out. I made a mental note and said to myself next time I shall do that. The cashier screams my name and no one moves a finger to give me my order. I'm waiting in front of the cashiers for my order and 10 minutes go by I believe someone says 64, my ticket number, I approach and vocalize my order 2 tortas de asada and 2 tacos de tripa. Guess what, IGNORED!!! I wait for another 10 minutes and by then I'm irked. I approach the cashier nicely and I quote " Señorita ordene mi comida a las 9 :23" and "pague mi comida a las 9:53" ... etc I got cut off and ignored they hand me my food and blame me for not hearing my order when they said it. I corrected them by stating no I approached no one inquired or bothered to investigate. I grab my order and left. I get home and my food is cold. I hate cold food. What's worst I am a Long Beach native born and raised have been coming for the past 10 -14 years. Decent Mexican food for fast take out but horrible if not the worst customer service and providing an experience. I will no longer come here. FYI 4th Street tacos on Coronado are way better so if you're hunting feel free to try it. Thank you for reading my...
Read moreWorst food ever. I ordered Birria and a quesadilla for two people, the guy who served only gave me 1 container with no onion, no lemon, no cilantro, nothing, just a container with a spoon. I kindly asked if he could give me all of the above and he just stood there, he did not move or talk at all, he got so mad and another guy said "we already put you everything in the bag" and I said no, I don't see it. He asked me to relax, as if I was upset or something. After checking the bag, he said "I thought everything was in there" He kindly gave me a little plastic bag with everything and I left. When I got home I realized the little bag was full of expired food: the lemons were already bad (yellow on the edges and smelled awful), the onion was already bad and smelly, the birria had only bones and water, you could barely see any meat in it. The Jamaica and Strawberry "hand made waters" were bad as well, we couldn't even drink them. I had to throw everything in the trash and spent $41+ on this disgusting food. Definitely not what I expected. If they would have told me the food had expired and they didn't have what I was looking for, I would have never complained. They're prices are extremely expensive, you would think you'd get something good at least. I have never been in front of such dishonest people. Definitely not coming back. After this experience, it made sense why the restaurant was completely empty, there was only one person in there...
