Handy's Smokehouse Delicacies — Restaurant in Long Beach

I bumped into this place while on my way to Bundts on Melrose. This was worth the visit. Mr. Handy (the owner) is so kind. I tried the Brisket sandwich. It was delicious, except the roll could have been better. Maybe ciabatta or italian roll would have been better. But that is not why I am giving him 5 stars. His spreads are to die for. I took home the Albacore spread. It is SO good. It is expensive, but it is worth the price. I put it on toasted croissants for my toddlers and they LOVED it. Any parent of little ones will testify that it is so hard to get them to eat, especially the picky eaters, but when you find something that they will devour that is when you experience pure joy. The meat is delicious, the spread is fantastic. Mr. Handy said his spot is known for being a treat. He is right! That is exactly what it is....

The smoked meat at Handy's was beyond excellent!! It not only met, but greatly exceeded my high expectations.The flavor was wonderful&the food was smoked to perfection.I ordered a pulled pork sandwich that came with a savory potato salad on the side..&turkey wings for dinner later.Do go here! Soon. I guarantee u will NOT! be disappointed. Ps; A bonus-The owner is very nice&personable too.i asked&he was kind enough to explain what goes into the preparation&smoking of many of the fine delicacies...

Idk what bbq people are use to but I could have went to the grocery store for this. The sides are one teaspoon of a serving . To top it off I order ribs and chicken waiting 30min and he gave me a card to put it in the oven for 15min ....wait what did I pay you for ...I'm hungry now ....they are nice people but changes need to be made to the establishment.
