I have been to Ike's only twice and loved one of their sandwiches so I was excited to find one location near where we were going to stay for a few days. They seemed to close a few minutes early so we went back the next day. They were very busy and messed up the order. We had walked to get there so by the time we found this out, we didn't have time to walk back to resolve the issue before closing. It was very cold that night but we went out just for Ike's. We called and they said they would leave a note and do a new sandwich for us the next morning. Well the next morning they did not have a note like they said they would in regards to fixing it. The employee who had made the sandwich error was working and denied the mistake. He seemed upset for having to re-do it. I had walked there again so when I got back, it was just like the previous night. The re-do was still not correct! Really? The same mistake again? What was going on? Was this now on purpose? I will never go there again. I loved Ike's before and that is normally an amazing sandwich, my favorite ever in fact, but this repeated mistake ruined this. It was too plain both times at this location. What happened to my sauce?? Also, my text receipts...
Read moreAs a indecisive person who's a vegetarian, I've gotten comfortable with not having to decide when I eat out at a place my meat eating friends have picked. There is always just one or two options..easy peasy! This place is a vegetarian/vegan person's personal heaven and an indecisive person's personal hell. Lol..all good things tho. Extensive vegetarian menu from vegan steak to chicken to meatballs. Their Dutch bread steals the show tho. My calorie counting app isn't happy today but it was worth it. I was full in half a sandwich but my taste buds wanted more. I got the Jessica rabbit with a side of hebenaro sauce because I love all things spicy and it was amazing. I didn't really taste the stuffed jalapenos in there which was the main reason of getting the sandwich but it all blended together very well and ofc the bread stole the show. $20 on doordash/Uber eats was a stretch for a sandwich but I know their in person pick up is cheaper and could be worth it. Want to try more of their vegan...
Read moreAway from home, and hungry, I meet someone that recommends Ike's for a late lunch. I ask about Vegan options. The person doesn't know. Ike's Love & Sandwiches is near so I check the menu. Ike's has a huge selection of sandwiches, many of which are Veganizable. The Day Off tastes so good! I have to ask employees if I'm eating actual Swiss Cheese (it's Vegan Cheese). A lollipop comes with my meal. Tractor's teas are really tasty! A person can dine-in without a mask though has to wear a mask at all other times indoors. Customer service is really on point. Ike's seems to be a go to sandwich spot in Long Beach (at least for The Day Off sandwich). I enjoy a good sandwich-sub type meal from time to time. Ike's accepts...
