Another hot chicken review, ok great location at the hangar in Long Beach, clean, and great service, so I tried the chicken sandwich & fries, the chop, and blazing fries. The chop is one chopped chicken tenders spiced with your choice of heat in a mix of coleslaw, chopped pickles, comeback sauce, and Big Sexy sauce I got a hot level tender which was exactly what I been expecting to eat at a hot chicken spot, good idea but execution was off, vinegar on slaw overpowered the taste of everything else, more black pepper to compensate and chicken was scarce with only 1 tender, would recommend you add extra tender for 3 bucks. Next the blazing fries which is one chopped chicken tender, spiced with your choice of heat, mixed with spicy fries, mac n' cheese, comeback sauce, and Big Sexy sauce. I got medium level, great mixture of fries, mac and cheese, comeback sauce, big sexy sauce, but with only 1 chicken tender, definitely good but again will leave you wanting to add another tender if you want good amount of protein to level out all the carbs of fries and Mac and cheese. Finally the chicken sandwich, great sandwich, big and juicy breast breading was just right for me not that crazy breading with just crispy oil in it, medium level was not spicy at all good amount of slaw nothing too overpowering, come back sauce is good but I had better from other places, brioche bun complements everything between them buns, fries are good too, crinkle cut nice and crispy! One of my favorite chicken sandwiches I've had, would recommend the sandwich first and foremost as a real meal everything else as a snack unless you add extra chicken... overall great place for a chicken sandwich would...

I ordered a chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickles. Coleslaw and pickles were delicious, it wasn’t overpowering the flavor of the chicken on the sandwich. Coleslaw and pickles were cool and brought a balanced contrast to the heat of the fried chicken. So the flavor I got on my sandwich was Medium spicy, in my opinion, maybe this is due to the fact that I regularly eat spicy foods, the Medium was not spicy, it had a little bit of a kick to it. But if you rank it from a scale of 1-10, 1 being not spicy at all and 10 being FLAMING HOT, I would give it a light 3. It had a great flavor though. The piece of chicken was huge! Super juicy and tender chicken accompanied with the perfect amount of crunchy breading each time you took a bite. The juices from the chicken hitting your tongue was GREAT. The chicken sandwich was delicious and fresh. The fries are crinkle cut like Canes, but they give you a good amount of fries, in my opinion. Yeah, it’s pricey there, but you are certainly getting what you paid for. They give you lots of fries, and their fries are topped off with this mildly spicy chili powder, but it was delicious!!!!!! It left a light and mild taste of the seasoning with each fry. Great amount of fries and a pretty big piece of chicken. The only thing I would change about my experience is ordering the Hot flavor on my chicken sandwich instead of mild. I rate my...

We tried this place for the first time and WOW have we been missing out...awesome flavors, moist chicken, delicious sides. My wife had the Mac Daddy Sandwich and loved the flavors, my son had Chicken Tenders which were huge in size (w/fries) I had the traditional Chicken Sandwich Hot in Heat level which was not spicy to my taste, then the most Amazing thing happened... Jay himself (kind, humble, awesome person) walked up to us and asked how everything was, I mentioned the Hot was not spicy, so he then gave me 1 Tender (XtraHot) at no cost to try 1 level up of spicy which was just the right amount of heat I could handle. Then he brought sides of Mac&Cheese, Potato Salad (loved the Potato Salad) Waffles w/syrup once again at No Cost. We had plenty of food to go around. We all were sooo stuffed with such delicious food and Once Again here comes Jay with a Lemonade and Sweet Tea on the house. What a Great Guy! Food was so flavorful that we will be coming back again and again.. nice Gem in LB. Out of 3 other Nashville Chicken restaurants we have tried this is the BEST by far I had. Jay, if you read this THANK YOU. Best...

Absolutely delicious. If this were closer to me, I would definitely come here over Howlin Ray's simply because location, parking, and line is way more convenient. Other places I've tried who try to sell Nashville style hot chicken end up having their chicken tastes powdery with all the spice rub. At Jay Bird's, you do not have to go through that unfortunate experience. The chicken is crispy and juicy and for a medium spice level, it was perfection. You get the option of switching up to the Big Sexy style, which I wasn't entirely sure what it was, maybe the sauce? but it was delicious either way. You get to choose one side to go along with the enormous sandwich already. I opted for the potato salad, which was a great choice for myself. It wasn't too mayo-ey, and had a good balance of it, which was cooling from the spice. Will definitely be back!

My kids love spicy and wanted to try this place when we got to LA. We had some hours to kill until our Airbnb was ready so we picked up our rental and headed to Long Beach on the 405. Odd to be traveling at 65 on a weekday on the freeway but that’s what the pandemic has done. Kids were not disappointed. Two thumbs up from each (that’s 4 thumbs up for the math challenged). I had the slightly spicy French fries and lemonade. Very tasty. You can only eat on premises outdoors. The place is called The Hanger and it’s a food court. There are a couple of other interesting places inside.
