It is very difficult for me to put a three-star rating rather than a five, because I truly love La Michoacana! To be honest the ice cream and some of the best I've ever had-especially their pina colada. Trust me when I say it's almost a life-changing experience! If you haven't tried their pina colada you really should! However, now we must get to the reason why it's a five-star place with a 3-star rating. The hours you post for doing business are those that you should stick by, people who patronize your establishment expect that if it says till 10:00 p.m. you're open till 10:00 not 9:45 not 9:30 not 9:40 not 950, etc...rather 10 p.m. especially with the breakneck pace life can reach nowadays, it isn't uncommon for people to quite ñiterally barely meet closing times to get done all they need to accomplish in a day. Then to arrive with what one thinks is 15 minutes to spare only to be turned away at the door is frustrating to say the least. I'm not heartless or uncaring I know everybody wants to go home, but maybe you're posted hours need to be 15 minutes earlier if 10pm is just too late. And I really don't see how my two scoops of ice cream we're going to be that much more of a burden. I kind of see it as five bucks lost-maybe to return or maybe not...

Today at opening I tried ordering an iceacream sundae but unfortunately the woman didn't speak English -- though Chocolate and Vanilla said in English sound very similar to that in Spanish-- I asked my boyfriend to ask for 2 scoops of chocolate and 1 of vanilla in Spanish for me. Which he did. It ends up 2 scoops vanilla and 1 scoop chocolate. I am clearly unhappy and my boyfriend let's her know that is not how he ordered it and the woman still goes to charge us for the sundae without swapping out the scoop. As my boyfriend goes to pay, he let's her know (a third time) the order WAS 2 chocolate and 1 vanilla. The woman remade the sundae - THANK YOU! - Not without letting us know she will be charged for the second sundae.
If this business model does not factor in employee mistakes, like other well established businesses, there is an issue with the business this needs to be reviewed. With a $10 icecream sundae -- the employee should not been charged for her mistake. Mistakes happen and to charge your employee for their mistake, unless it happens all the time, is ridiculous!

They attach receipt with your name to a folder, and you give your name and they write down what drink you got that day. I went last night to redeem 1 of my drinks, I had only redeemed 3 of them so far. I was told that they can't find me on the folder. I told them that I still have 2 more! My name should be in the folder. Then one of the employees rudely said that they cant make any of those decisions, that I need to come back and talk to the manager when she's there, and I needed to pay. First of all, it was not my problem that there is no proper way established to keep track! And why would I pay for something that has already been paid for!?!??!? I left the juice behind. I did notice they had a different folder with different tabs, but still...
