Biryani Kabob House in Koreatown offers a genuine taste of Pakistani cuisine that's winning over locals and visitors alike. This family-run establishment focuses on fresh, high-quality ingredients, and it truly shines through in their flavorful dishes. While their name highlights their biryani, a must-try according to many, their menu extends to a delightful array of curries, kebabs, and freshly baked breads like naan. Customers often rave about the authentic, home-cooked quality of the food, evoking a sense of nostalgia for traditional family recipes. The biryani itself comes in several variations, including lamb, chicken, beef, vegetable, and even fish or shrimp, showcasing a diverse range of options. The Hyderabadi Lamb Biryani, in particular, seems to be a favorite, with tender lamb shank and fragrant rice. Beyond the biryani, their kebabs, such as the seekh kebab (both chicken and beef), chapli kebab, and bihari kebab, are also highly recommended. The tandoori chicken and malai chicken boti kabob are other popular choices. Many appreciate the generous portions and the fact that the rice served with dishes isn't skimped on. The ambiance is described as cozy and unpretentious, a "no-frills eatery" where the focus is clearly on the food. It’s located in a modest strip mall, but don't let that deter you. The friendly staff and the owner, who often interacts with guests, add a personal touch to the dining experience, making you feel welcome. For those seeking authentic Pakistani flavors in Los Angeles, Biryani Kabob House appears to be a standout. It’s praised for its delicious food, reasonable prices, and the genuine taste that reminds many of home-cooked meals. Whether you dine in, take out, or get delivery, it's a spot worth trying for a true taste of South Asian...
Read moreReally bad experience. We were misled by google and some good reviews. I literally searched for ‘the best biryani in LA’ and this was the first hit. But very disappointing. We were visiting LA and planned to order through phone and pick it up. The phone call didn’t go through. But I was glad to see they had online order and an app for ordering. We ordered 45 minutes ahead. Two biryanis- a Hyderabadi biryani and a regular chicken biryani, and also some chicken soup. When we went to pick it up, it was a total chaos. It was Christmas Eve. A huge family was ordering like 15 items one by one by discussing among them. They were given special importance. We were second in line. Then suddenly people started crowding at the counter. We weren’t second anymore. This poor cashier girl was struggling with all the orders. The owner came to us and asked what our situation was and that’s it. We were still in line, no progress for about 25 minutes. Finally when we got to the counter, they said it was still in the making. Waited more. There was a couple waiting and they begged if someone could clean the dirty table so that they can sit. The owner was carrying the disinfectant cleaner around the food with the dirty rag touching food. I got a sneak peek at the kitchen. It didn’t look hygienic. I told my friends that if I had seen the place, I wouldn’t have ordered from there. I was at least hoping the food would taste good. A huge disappointment again. The biryanis didn’t live up to the expectations at all. I would rate them as 2 on 10 because the soup was okay. Zero for biryani. I couldn’t regret more thinking I should have read more reviews on it. I trusted google too much. I would not recommend this place at all unless you would compromise on bad hygiene and...
Read moreKINDNESS STILL EXIST IN LOS ANGELES. PLEASE READ. SUPPORT THE BIRIYANI KABOB HOUSE. IT DESERVES IT.
I hope to see this post spread far and wide, particularly in the Los Angeles area. The food is excellent, tasty and fresh and the prices are quite reasonable. But why I want to this restaurant at 3rd Street and Vermont to be successful is due to the kindness of the owner.
I was picking up lunch today and was at the counter waiting on the owner who was behind the counter when an elderly Black gentleman who was clearly homeless walked into the restaurant where people were having lunch. I have seen this before and in each and every time the restaurant would have him pushed out the door as quickly as possible. Not so this time. The owner immediately left me at the counter and went to the homeless man took him by shoulder and said “Come with me friend” and took him to an outdoor area with tables and chairs all set up and had him take a seat there. He then went to cooler took out a coke and took it the homeless man and returned to the kitchen where he began dishing out a complete meal. When he was through dishing it out he took it to man and served him before finally returning to my order.
I told him that I was about to offer pay for the homeless man’s meal when he came in and was really impressed at his Humanity. He responded that this was what he was thought by his mother. “Treat everyone with respect and if they are in need help them. But don’t give them what you would throw out. Share with them what you actually eat”. I shook his hand and thanked him for restoring my faith in...
