Blue Bottle Coffee has truly set the bar high when it comes to serving exceptional coffee. My recent visit to their cafe was a delightful experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee, and the friendly staff made me feel right at home.
The attention to detail at Blue Bottle is truly impressive. Their commitment to sourcing high-quality beans and their meticulous approach to brewing ensures that every cup of coffee is a masterpiece. I tried their single-origin pour-over coffee, and it was a revelation. The flavors were rich, nuanced, and perfectly balanced. Each sip was a journey through the subtle notes and aromas of the coffee beans.
The ambiance of the cafe is cozy and inviting, with a modern and minimalist design. The seating options are comfortable, and there is a relaxed atmosphere that makes it an ideal place to unwind or catch up with friends. Read moreI recently had bad service 07/27. I came in and noticed the associate Reina look at me. She didn't greet me and I thought nothing of it. I figured she was busy and gave her the benefit of the doubt. I looked at the menu, but I already knew what I was going to order. Reina made her way and had me move to the terminal that was close to her. I told her I wanted to order a "cold bella Donavon blend". She looked at me confused. She said they can't offer that drink cold. I told her I was at the location the prior week 07/20 and that's how I ordered my drink. She asked the barista if they can make that drink cold and she came back to tell me he couldn't. I asked her if I can speak to the manager or someone that actually wants to assist me. She said no one can help. I wasn't aggressive towards her and kept my cool. Finally, I stepped to the side and approached the barista Carlos. I told him what I wanted to order and he understood. He gave me what I asked for and was very friendly. I like Blue Bottle Coffee and I frequently visit when I'm in the area. The encounter could have been worse if it was a different customer. Again, I wasn't greeted initially, I was very specific on the order and I wasn't aggressive in any way. Please do...
Read moreYears ago I had previously rated this Blue Bottle 5 stars. If I could do ZERO stars I would.
The shop is in a beautiful building. I visit this Blue Bottle every time I'm in LA (among others by Beverly Center, NYC train yard and SF). I'm really rethinking this today.
Yesterday I took a friend to see Bradbury Building (an amazing historic building in DTLA) and have, her first experience to Blue Bottle. It was about 5:20 and after standing in line over 10 minutes, the cashier told us they can't do hot coffee because they are too busy and too close to closing time. They closed, according to signage, at 6:00. How in the hell can a coffee shop not do hot coffee 40 minutes prior to close. Stay till 6:20 to SERVE your guest! The time of guests is just as important as the Blue Bottle folks.
I could understand if the supply of potable water was compromised, but that was not the case. I've slept on this and caffeinated myself, and still find this totally unacceptable.
Perhaps they should have closed the gates and/or put a sign on the door Blue Bottle - NO HOT COFFEES.
We wound up walking to a nearby Starbuck, and got our hot coffee there. I'd much rather support Blue Bottle or Philz over Starbucks, but Blue Bottle...
