You definitely can’t judge a restaurant by it’s name. This local gem doesn’t just serve California rolls. It also serves authentic sashimi, fresh Aburi rolls, and traditional Japanese food like Udon and Grilled Yellowtail Collar (which was huge). The prices here are very affordable. I had a great experience and would totally come back for some Aburi rolls if I’m ever nearby. 😍 Fun fact, they’ve been opened since 1996! ——— 💌 Thank you for the invite 🫶🏻 @californiarollfactory ——— 🍣 @californiarollfactory 📍11629 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025 —— 💲Featured Items - Aburi (Seared) Yellowtail Belly - Aburi Oni Sashimi - Sushi Donut - Garlic Edamame - Aburi Toro Roll - Aburi Salmon Roll - Tempura Appetizer - Grilled Yellowtail Neck - Tempura Ice Cream ——— #foodspread #foodviral #dateideas #foodvideos #foodvlogger #foodblogger #lafood #laeater #lafoodie #foodiegram #yummyfood #foodtrend #foodforfoodies #foodreview #foodstagram #yummyfood #bestfood #eater #losangelesfood #foodtrend #deliciousfood

This Sushi restaurant is the best in LA - the price is great and it's very delicious!! Everybody at the restaurant is friendly and welcoming and, most of all, the sushi making technique of KAZUO, the Chef, is incredible. You will think that it is a restaurant that specializes in sushi rolls because it’s called "California Roll Factory", but they actually serve traditional style sushi, with an artisan technique as well! What makes them special is that they don't do the "suteshari" method, which is when the sushi chef takes rice out of the rice container to make sushi, and then puts what they didn't use back in the container. They don't use this method at good sushi restaurants in Japan. They don't use this method at good sushi restaurants In Japan, because it is considered unhygienic. I've lived in Japan for more than thirty years and have been to many famous sushi restaurants, but even in Japan, it is getting harder and harder to find places that keep the traditional style like California Roll Factory does, so I was very surprised to find a sushi restaurant like this in Los Angeles. I am very thankful and happy that it exists! The reason they use plastic plates is because the owner did not want anyone to get hurt when the plates fall.

Super Duper Fast & Delicious!!! Judging a book by its cover has never been so true. I almost walked past this little hole in the wall gem. Everything was absolutely delicious and intriguingly named. It was so easy to order based on the fun names! I ordered the Aburi Yellowtail Jalapeno Sushi,Picasso Roll, Some Like it Hot, & Naughty Roll. I had to of course wash it down with a Sapporo beer. By all means don’t forget to try their Banana Tempura & Green tea ice cream dessert! The only regret here is that I was too full to try more selections!

I've been coming to this place for a very long time, just placed an order from them through doordash, 10 minutes before delivery (and after waiting almost 1 hour!) door dash sends a message that the order has been canceled because the restaurant couldn't fulfill the order.

I called the restaurant let them know what's going on and placed an exact duplicate order for pickup in person this time. then I drive over 30 minutes to pick up the order only for the restaurant to tell me that I need to pay for two orders (the one that they gave to whoever they gave it to and another for the one that I'm picking up as a replacement)

I offered to pay for the order I wear picking up in person, but they insisted to charge me twice.

A complete waste of time and unprofessional handling of a simple matter.

We have been going there for years and it's a shame that they don't even appreciate their customers.

The owner was always weird with a revolving door of servers that's don't seem to let and...

My friends and I came here on a rainy Saturday night for dinner and easily found parking on the streets. Our party of 5 was seated at a table that usually would only be for 4. The staff provided us with a folding chair and made 3 of us squish on one side of the table. I thought this was strange, since they could have made us wait for a bigger table.

My friends and I decided to eat family style, but it took us a while to choose which rolls we wanted because California Roll Factory offers so many options. However, I thought most rolls were pretty basic and just had slight variations from roll to roll. We ordered Dynamite for an appetizer, 2 Vizzy rolls, Palmer Family, Apogee, and 911 roll.

All of the rolls, but the Vizzy, were okay. The Vizzy roll was so good and huge. I would pass on the Dynamite because the scallops were over cooked and I didn't think it tasted...
