9/30/2017 I had the worst experience with this company today. I was at Subaru, some guy with this company came to pick us up with our rental (supplied by the awesome people at Subaru). First off, the man flew down the side street, ther the car in reverse, drove entirely too fast in reverse into the service area where there were MULTIPLE people outside and MANY customer vehicles. When we walked into the room to get things started he had a major attitude. He was rude, condescending, tried to interrupt, talk over me, and absolutely combative. This man was nothing short of an absolute J E R K! I called this rental company to speak with the manager. Not only did I NOT speak with a manager, I was lied to, told I was speaking with a manager, put on hold by being cut off multiple times in two minutes, then talked over AGAIN! This guy had the nerve to tell me Subaru called them and said we "refused" to work with him and for him to leave. Hahahahaha! I asked him who at Subaru multiple times. He continually said he didn't know. So o flat out said you're lying. No one here called you and said that because you left and I have not spoken to anyone! He then got very hostile, I said I was going to put the place on blast everywhere I could. Sure enough he slammed the phone down hanging up on me. When I asked Chris (Subaru) if someone called and said that he said of course not.
Disgusting business. Beware if you do anything with this place. Be extra careful if...
Read moreRecently had some recall work done on my VW and the loaner car was supplied these guys. They brought a below average condition Jetta as my rental car with several dents/dings/scratches and a dirty interior, and despite having them document the condition, they still attempted to put (2) $100 charges through on my credit card two days after I returned the vehicle claiming I had a dog in the backseat, I never even touched that area of the car and returned it in identical condition to how I received it. After some discussion with Steve who answered the phone, he told me they had pictures of before/after etc. and would look into it. About 2 hours later he called and offered to remove the charges as a ONE TIME COURTESY, I'm not sure who the courtesy was to since this is how they delivered the vehicle to me and it despite ultimately not having to pay these fees, it's a conversation that should never have happened and they shouldn't be renting out vehicles in this condition. Nobody contacted me to ask about the condition of the car, they just attempted to put the charges though probably hoping I would not notice and just pay them, it's unprofessional at best and I will avoid this place at all costs, I suggest you avoid them as well. It's disappointing they still implied I caused this issue despite removing the charges and it's terrible...
Read moreI almost never go with the "local" guys when renting a car... however my great experience with California Rent-A-Car has made me rethink that policy.
I recently rented a Volvo from California Rent-A-Car for an extended period of time, almost three months, and everything about the experience was excellent. Organizing the rental with Chris Gonzalez (due to the long term aspect I did this over email rather than though the website) was simple and painless. The car was exactly as promised and the pickup was very easy. When I got my final bill, it was as agreed and there were no surprises.
Normally that would be enough... a good car, good customer service and no problems. California Rent-A-Car, and especially Paul Kazyak, took it one step further. Paul gave me a couple free car wash coupons so I could keep the car looking great; he made some changes to the rental process to make the experience more convenient for me, and he arranged an airport drop-off which sped up my departure and saved me some money and hassle.
California Rent-A-Car and it's employees know how to provide a good product and excellent customer service... I will use them every time I am in LA... give them a chance to make...
