I am so in love with Qusqo Bistro!!!! Every time I come, I am literally in food Heaven! Every dish is like "if God made it"!!! I've tried just about everything on the menu and I am always amazed at how delectably delicious and exquisite each dish is!! The food is authentic Peruvian (I have several Peruvian friends and I have dined with them at Qusqo often, as they are also big time fans of the yummy cuisine and they actually say it's the BEST authentic Peruvian food in L.A.!! And that says a lot because they are also big time foodies!) 🌠 The portions are also really generous and it amazes me how reasonably priced it remains after 10 years! I've been coming since they first opened and I'm so grateful they are still as wonderful as they were when they opened. Besides the food being awesome, the servers are always super kind and attentivešŸ˜ They always have cool art by local artists on the walls, and I also enjoy the choice of music that's playing while I dine! It's most definitely one of my favorite restaurants in L.A.!! It's a tiny little unpretentious "mom and pop" place which can be a rarity in this day and age! And that is why I am writing this review, because I am hoping that they stay around! Tonight I had the "Lomo Saltado" (see picture) : yummy tender steak sautĆ©ed with bell peppers, red onions, tomato, sliced potato and their secret sauce which is soy sauce basedšŸ˜‹Heaven on a plate!!!! I also had their amazing fresh squeezed lemonade- yumminess! They also have cool wine based cocktails which are refreshing and unique and homemade Sangria!! But tonight I am the designated driver, so thank God for their great virgin drinks (they also have a wonderful Peruvian drink that's non alcoholic which is purple in color and it's called Chicha)! Thanks again Qusqo for another phenomenal dining experience!! God bless you...

The only reason i came to check out Qusqo was because it was on the inKind App. If you are also someone who likes to take advantage of the InKind Rewards, save your rewards. For one, they don’t accept your InKind payment method unless you spend a minimum of $75. I read the entire T&Cs of InKind and nowhere is there a minimum amount mentioned, so i believe this is at the misjudged discretion of the owner/operator of Qusqo. So my friend and I said, oh well let’s still give it a shot because we were in the mood for some good protein after a workout. We ordered the Lomo Saltado and one Plantain starter. Eat your starter very slowly, because you will have to wait for that Lomo Saltado for at least 30 minutes. When you do get your Lomo Saltado, maybe save the bits of stake towards the end because there’s not much of it. Also wanted more of that green Peruvian sauce that i’m used to at others places, as they only gave us enough to lightly drizzle over our 2 orders of Lomo Saltado. The steak or carne asada was very tasty very delicious, cooked very well, it’s just a shame that they are stingy with the amount.

My recommendation is check out Pollo A La Brasa in South Gate/Downey area for a generous and incredibly delicious plate of Lomo Saltado for about less than you would pay here which was about 20 before the starter. They also don’t offer the Saltado for 2 option if you were planning on getting that great sounding deal from their website.

Photo added was before I ate anything...

I have been to Qusqo Bistro twice now and I am convinced that it is my new favorite place to be! These days prices seem to exceed quality at every turn, but I have had the delicious battered chicken strips (with mild, smoky, chili in the batter—yum!) in the past, and, just now, I had a crisp, mellow, Sauvignon Blanc from Chile that tasted absolutely divine. Better yet the owner actually had a conversation with me about the wine. . .because, lo and behold, she had done her homework, knew it was fantastic, and knew why.

Both times I have been there I have been pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and drinks, only to be even more pleasantly surprised when I got the bill and realized I had spent about $5 dollars less than I expected.

To add to the appeal, Qusqo has gorgeous dĆ©cor and lovely atmosphere. It’s got a cool shadiness and outdoor seating that are great for summer, but at the same time it has a coziness to the inside that would make for a warm familial gathering place in winter as well.

It’s only drawback is that it is an independent business surrounded by corporate competitors with bigger, brighter, signs and more money. But they aren’t true competitors because they don’t offer the kind of exotic, high quality, food Qusqo does. It is right at the street corner, not at all hard to find, and it deserves a lot of love. Come here and bring people. You will not be...

Update: "THEY ARE NOW OPEN!!!" To be honest I must have driven by this place (located on the Corner of Santa Monica Blvd & Barry Ave) over a million times! It always looked closed. And it was......Well, Only during the Day! What I discovered was it was Only Open for Dinner! I finally got the opportunity to go by and I was pleasantly surprised. Although it isn't perfect Peuruvian Cuisine, it was Very Tasty and a Pleasant Experience. The Seafood Dishes I ordered were both cooked perfectly, not overly, not salty. And Yes...Very Fresh! What I truly appreciated was the opportunity to eat in peace. No long lines (try driving down Sawtelle Ave.) The server was right on point. She did not keep asking "Are you OK?" or "Did you need anything?", "Can I get you something else?" Well, you get the point! I eat out a lot and can only compare my experience to the overpriced & pretentious restaurants in the West LA area. Many of them are good, but have become very pushy. They want you "in & out" ASAP! My Qusqo Bistro experience was like eating dinner at someone's home. The Manager was pleasant and gracious. If you want to chill, eat great food and want a different experience, give Qusqo try. I always recommend ordering a couple of different dishes. You won't be disappointed!
