I drove by a few days ago, and saw their happy hour banner, showing a legit looking Chicago style deep dish pizza for $9.00. I wasn't even aware that they had it there, and I'm always up for it, so a couple days later we headed over. If you've never had it, you should know a proper deep dish pizza takes a while, 45 minutes to an hour. We ordered two, my son getting a meatball and sausage one. Unfortunately, when they finally came (looking AMAZING) he grabs a slice, and we can see mushrooms. He's game anyway, and gives it a try, but finds it not to his liking. Any place can make a mistake, how they deal with it is what makes the difference. These guys could give lessons on making it right! Our waiter apologies, and gets right on having a new one made (after checking to see if we're willing to wait for it) and minutes later the manager comes over and also apologies. He then gives us a $25 certificate, and tells us he'll comp us dessert if we want it. Ended up comping us for the other pizza, too. The pizza was on point, so cheesy and the sauce is sweet and tasty! So far, it's the best deep dish pizza I've had in California! Great price if you get in on the 4 to 6 weekdays happy hour, too.

Love the old time menu especially the broasted chicken with spaghetti. Often buy the chicken to go >> strongly recommend the chicken breast for dine in! It'll be the most juicy breasts you'll ever get! (I normally don't order this part of chicken as many places overcook them and make them dried, but not here!) Don't know why shrimp scampi is not in the recommendation list but that's good with capers. you can ask to cook with it, sprinkles,or on the side. Haven't tried their pizza yet because I always stick to the same choices. Finally save the tummy for dessert the last time and love the fruit tart!>> Nice old fashioned buttery crust with fresh fruits and smooth custard. Not too sweet (well-balanced sweetness with tangy berries) and very tasty. Satisfied! Come! You won't regret it! P.S. if come during the weekend, strongly recommend the chicken and waffle during brunch. It used to be in the lunch menu but no more.. 😢 I missed it very much! P.P.S. outdoor dining is available.

It is not often one experiences a meal that absolutely complements and nourishes not only the body but also the soul. I came across this restaurant by shear coincidence. I left my car near by for service and wanted to find a place to eat. I walked in the wrong direction and ended up here at Charlie’s trio. The name is brilliant because the restaurant is separated into three different sections, the bar, take out and Dine in. Lest talk about my meal. I had a bowl on minestrone with garlic bread and that was absolutely delicious. The garlic bread complimented the soup perfectly. My main dish was the Roma Gorgonzola thin crust pizza. Here is where my taste buds jumped with Joy. What a great combination between a perfectly cooked thin crust bread and tossed greens is a balsamic vinaigrette dressing. As if that was not enough, I found out that they where serving happy hour prices and my full meal was less than $20. What an amazing experience. Than you.

I used to come to this Charlie Trios for the past 6 years never had any problems however that has change about 2 months ago I ordered spaghetti to dine it there was nobody to assign me a table so I just sat a random seat it took them about 15 min to attend me even though they knew I was there after that another 10 min to bring my drink then I continued to wait Id say it took about 45 min for them to bring my food strangely enough I noticed people who came after me they got attended faster and brought their food before me I also notice I got treated differently compare to the other folks cause they even gave them bread with oil I can tell you the service is a bit biased if you ask me anyway today at around 3:30pm I showed up nobody assigned me a seat once again, I ordered my drink it didn't took that long ordered some wings it came fast however I ordered a calzone the other folks next to me and let me tell you something they were treated with royalty everything they ordered came alot quicker compare to me meanwhile as they were eating the waiter kept saying "oh it's almost finished every 10 min kept saying the same thing keep in mind it wasn't even crowded not to mention now that I think about it usually takes 30 minutes to make a calzone I waited 1 hour and 25 minutes later it finally came I must say I was disappointed because the waiter didn't even apologized to me for having me wait that long for a simple meal I ended up leaving at 5pm shame on your waiters for being biased worst customer service I ever received because lately it has gone down hill I'll definitely won't comeback to this Charlie...

It's the little things in life that bring a smile to your face. It just happened I was in my old neighborhood where I grew up, El Sereno/Alhambra with my kid sister trying to decided where to have lunch, when she tells me about our childhood favorite pizza and chicken restaurant, Charles Trio #1, long before they opened #2, their all you can eat deal. She said it was only one day a week, but forgot the day. Throwing caution in the wind, we took a shot at it. We were pleasantly surprised to find out its on Wednesday and includes the following:

All you can eat lunch buffet between 11:00am to 2:00pm for $13.00, which includes the following: steamed vegetable melody, mashed potatoes, red pasta, fettuccini alfredo pasta, their famous braised chicken, different varieties of pizza's coming out fresh as soon as the one on deck ran out, pastries, salad, fresh fruit salad and a drink.

My only regret is that I didn't take pictures to share. If you're in the area on a Wednesday don't even think about it. GO. You...
