Coffee Commissary — Restaurant in Los Angeles

So i decided not to wait in a huge line at the Community Goods today and went to this spot to get an iced matcha latte. Had a very strange negative attitude coming from a worker right away. The only matcha option there is a pre-packed instant matcha mixed with sugar. No unsweetened option. Had to to tell dude behind the register that i want my drink with oat milk three times. Then he couldn’t understand that i was placing an order for two drinks one for me and one for my wife (either he was stoned or he was mocking us). My wife ordered an oat cappuccino and received it with a regular milk 👹. Also, the overall vibe of this place is sad. It feels like they keep their workers as hostages and the place is gonna close for good really soon so nobody cares anymore. I understand why there is such a huge line at the Community Goods close by all the time. Do yourself a favor -...

I like this place. Great patio. Nice staff. Good coffee. I've been twice. Totally saved me this AM by being open before 8am. Many of the area (non sbux) coffee places are closed at this time. I'm having a low fat vanilla latte as a treat. I will have to try plain coffee next time. I like this place and will return. I just had a nice time at the coffee shop up the street last week. ... .and the mocha was tha bomb. I will try plain coffee at both and see if it impacts my review. So far both this place and coffee coffee up the street are excellent coffee options with good lattes and mochas. But if you want a latte before 8am choose this place and if you need space to work/read, etc ..this may be your better option. Parking is metered after 8am. Locals may want to walk or uber after 8am. You can park for free...

I would say Coffee Commissary is a pretty fair/above average coffee shop. Pretty standard, the decor is a cross between "classic adventurer" and "minimalist" which doesn't work super great at all times but is generally cool. The seating is laid out pretty inefficiently, so despite having a decent sized space, it's pretty rare that you'll ever get a seat because there are so few spots. I usually go to Coffee Commissary only when Coffee Coffee up the street is closed. Never had a bad experience here though, it's nothing terribly special, but...
