I LOVED the service throughout the ordering and tasting process and LOVED my beautiful wedding cake as the end result. We just had our wedding Feb 2021. I thought it'd be tougher selecting a bakery for the wedding cake because of 1. The ongoing pandemic and 2. The fact that we live in the Bay Area, and not in the Valley (San Fernando).
Jan (the owner) made it so easy. I emailed what we were thinking, in terms of design and flavors. She allowed me to pick up a cake sample the week before the wedding and included the cost of it into the overall cost of the cake (normally she charges $10, but by then I was sure I wanted the cake through them). The chocolate, carrot, and vanilla cakes were the best cakes I've ever tasted. They were delicate, moist, with just the right sweetness, and the chocolate cake was rich but not overpowering. We ended up selecting the classic vanilla with buttercream frosting, bavarian vanilla filling.
We had sent pictures of what we wanted and we got it! The only detail that was tweaked was that they had only 1 gum paste blue rose on the top, instead of 2, but actually it looked absolutely perfect. (I'll try to post pics below). I provided the ribbon and they did all the rest. We were able to pick up the cake easily afternoon before the wedding and Jan even emailed afterwards to double check that we had gotten the cake and had no issues. The other ladies at the bakery who we interacted with were always pleasant and professional as well.
I would Definitely trust them to get an elegant and delicious cake done right. I look forward to going back to them one day.
In summary: Excellent price for the quality of cakes Very good flavoring of all elements of the cakes Flexible and professional customer service Genuine care/working with the customer Honest and clear communication which facilitate a smooth process (from ordering...
Read moreBrent's Deli's double-baked rye bread is the best rye bread I've ever tasted. It's soft on the inside, filled with nooks and crannies. The well-seeded crust is crunchy. We asked the deli manager if Brent's baked the bread. He said, "No. We just double bake it. It comes from SWEET DELICIOUS BAKERY."
The address came from Google. I was expecting A.K.A. Delicious Bakery to be a factory, but it wasn't. It's a neighborhood bake shop offering traditional, handmade bakery goods.
The day we were there, the line stretched out the door. Waiting, we pass the time learning about the bakery.* Seems the queue is mostly regular customers, picking up fresh bread and pastry. The line moved quickly.
The bakery's sales floor is u-shaped, with display counters and shelving filled with fresh baked breads and pastries. The aroma is hypnotic.
The counterperson couldn't be nicer. She answered our questions and gave my wife a sample cookie. We took home cookies, and of course, a delicious, thin sliced, seeded rye bread.
Parking is free. Everything is wheelchair accessible.
The next morning I relived my childhood: a toasted rye bread sandwich, thickly spread with chunky almond butter. The melting nut butter lovingly caressed the rye's tender nooks and crannies, embraced by the seaded crust. I took my first bite.
She crackled as my teeth cut into her firm crust and warm body. The warm bread's flavor enhancing the richness of the rich, gooey nut butter.
Suddenly, I felt a need for footed PJs. I finished breakfast with a glass of OJ and an Americana.
It's good to be young again.
In 2001 Campos and Martin took ownership of the Sweet Delicious Bakery. Since her childhood, baking has been part of...
Read moreGood Morning, I had called to place an order for a Large Fruit Tart on 07/13/24 spoke with a gentleman who took my order and informed me he would call me back with the price. 2 hrs later no call back. I called again and spoke with a lady who took my order and accommodated my request no problems. Maybe the gentleman who answered the phone normally does not take orders.
Went on the date I requested for pickup and was early but to my surprise, my order was ready and waiting. Thank you!
Brought it back for a Surprise Birthday at work.We were all waiting patiently so we could dig in to the Fruit Tart. Once we were able start enjoying the Tart we had several people comment about the quality of the Tart but not in a good way.
The tart had a very very thin layer of custard to the point you could barely see any and was covered with a lot of whipped cream. In addition, the fruit selection was not like it has been in the past and was very bland. I understand fruit is seasonal but this was very disappointing.
We have ordered several of these in the past and I don't know if this store is under new management but for what we got and what we paid $40.00 I will have to think twice about using this store again. Mind you, it's not necessarily the cost but the quality we found here in the past. I honestly thought we found a diamond when we found this bakery.
I hope this review as long as it is and I am sorry for that helps in the...
