Discovered Delish Thai Kitchen by accident...but, VERY glad I did. I'm in North Hollywood today, having driven a busload of elementary school kids from Las Vegas, to Universal Studios. I'm looking for a place to have a late lunch, and checking Google Maps reviews I happen to notice this Thai place a few blocks from the hotel our drivers are staying at...and, as much as I enjoy Thai food, I definitely had to give it a try.
Service is fast, and friendly. I should note that, by 'fast', I definitely do NOT mean they rush you...they allow you to relax, and enjoy at your own pace. As for the food, all was WELL above average...I'd give it at least an 8.5 out of 10. For my late, late lunch (could also consider it an early dinner), I had the green curry with chicken (8 out of 10...maybe 8.25), and sticky rice with mango (10 of of 10). Since I don't 'rate' Thai iced tea, all I will say is, is was VERY good - strong, but not too strong, and not overly sweet.
For an answer to the most important question - Would I go back? - the answer is, "MOST DEFINITELY". Granted, is not too often I'm in this area (typically, only late April, through early June...in other words, usually only during the end-of-the-school-year trips to Universal Studios)...but, when I am, I know I'll be back. And, as 'luck' has it, I'm already assigned to another school Universal Studios trip in approximately a week...so, I can say, with at least 95% certainty (as long as we're not put up at a hotel further away), that I will be...
Read moreWas disappointed, but I will give it a second try in the future. I've had better Thai in other North Hollywood locations.
The Chicken Satay was good, but I've had much better at other locations. The chicken was tender and cooked very good, but the flavor was a bit lacking. Like the marinade needs more spice. The cucumber salad was a little boring. The peanut sauce was good.
The Tom Kha Noodle soup was rich and very tasty, but the cheap lettuce and mushrooms cheapened it way too much for the price. Very expensive for the quality. And it had no noodles. It was full of veggies. Much more than most restaurants and the flavor was very good.
I couldn't eat the Pad See Ew. Had to throw it out. It's one of my favorite dishes, but the bitter taste of the broccoli was so overwhelming that I couldn't eat it and I didn't eat any of the broccoli at all. I'm used to the bitterness from this dish at other places, but I've never had it where it was the prevailing and...
Read moreTasted good yes, but disappointed in their using the cheap version of wide noodle instead of the thinner, silkier STANDARD one most Thai places use. C’mon guys..for $17 in your location I expect standard vs cutting corners. Plus so many cheap noodles and too little meat/veggies. I was left with a heap of them after eating half of it and saving the other “half” for later. This is a favorite dish of mine so I know it well from other Thai places.
However, the taste of it was very good and the takeout lady was really nice!
PS they’re 4.7⭐️ review is based on only 15 people who don’t know Thai well or have...
