Electric Lotus Kitchen of India — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Omg yum! We came here at about 10pm on a Sunday after visiting Griffith observatory. I was a bit worried because when we walked in, we were the only ones in the restaurant, and I was worried they'd rush our food and just want us to leave. But they were so lovely and friendly! The observatory closed at 10 and other people clearly had the same idea, because the restaurant soon filled up around us, which was nice. The food was delicious, and there's a million options! Really flavourful and tasty and big portions. We ordered way too much, and they gave us a takeaway bag to bring it with us :) Really delicious food, wonderful vibe, great service. Electric Lotus has been my favorite Indian restaurant since the mid-1990s when it was located at Franklin and Vermont; next door to the 7-11. The chicken curry is delicious. There is a nice amount of cilantro in it. I've always loved the rice that comes with it. The tikka masala is so good. I've been a big fan of their chicken naan from day-one.

Electric Lotus is my favorite place for Indian food in the area. The staff is very laid-back and friendly. The decor attempts to convey an authentic Indian atmosphere but I can't tell if it achieves its goal or is a little cheesy. Either way, it's a relaxing and comfortable environment nonetheless.
