Celebrated my birthday there with my hubby. Friendly staff and super fast service (maybe because we got there 45min before closing and they all wanted to go home, but we didn't complain 😄). The soft shell crab and yellowtail collar were excellent. The Mango Madness roll was bold and creative and the Pink Panda roll was scrumptious. The 13-piece sashimi was beautifully presented but nothing to write home about. The Toro seemed to be setoro cut in a hurry, because I got a chewy piece of tendon in one of the three pieces. We requested tempura ice cream, but got a couple of scoops of green tea ice cream with fried tempura batter "dumplings" on top. Not the same effect. Also, because it was the end of the day, the fried "dumplings" smelled of all the shrimp and veggies that were fried in the same grease all day. It was more like shrimp tempura ice cream. 😂 But the rolls, the crab, the collar and the sake(!) more than made up for it. 😄 Overall, a yummy...
Read moreI wish that I loved everything from here. All of the staff are really friendly and helpful! The fresh blue crab roll was a bit dry, there were some small bits of shell, and the rice just doesn't have that typical sushi rice texture. It's missing the sweetness and moistness. The spicy tuna crispy rice was great. It was spicy topped with some sriracha and a jalapeno slice. The eel sauce is on the side which I prefer. And the crispy rice was very crispy. Yum. The shishito peppers were hit and miss. I don't know how but they formed like a really firm skin on the outside that wasn't as much crispy as it was dry. But the seasoning was spot on. I just haven't had shishito peppers where the skin actually pulls away from the interior pepper flesh and like dries out. It was strange. But 100% edible and...

The thing is - this place is located in central LA. Coming on a weekend, did not see a line or specks of human there. The sushi roll on average is about a bit mid range of rolls when there are cheaper places out there. The amount of food that they give is a medium amount of rice to fish ratio.
I happen to be lucky and got a spot right outside (street parking) which may take a while. its quite, and i mean they are good, but as an avid sushi goer, this place was okay.
It seems like a great sushi place for those who are around the hollywood region with pricier sushi but I have been to places that the fish rice ratio is more proper, and also the cost is not that expensive. The place did not also seem too clean so that was...
